Are you using Internet Service Provider (ISP) service that provides static IP? That means, particular IP address solely be used by you and no other users can use your IP. Whereas dynamic IP is similar to a tube that has arrays of IP from top to bottom and users who connects to Internet will use the first free IP in the stack to obtain connection. For dynamic IP, if the connection resets or re-connects, you won’t get the same IP connection as earlier because you will obtain next free IP in the IP tube arrays. In simple words, users with dynamic IP ISP services often shares IP. It is good to have our own IP address that represents us uniquely, but it is not helpful if you are in SEO field like link building.

If you are offering link building services or other SEO services where you need to search hundreds of queries using Google; for example to check your website ranking for several keyword phrases or check indexed pages in Google.com or Google.co.uk or other datacenters. There are more queries required to be made using Google search engine to obtain site wide analysis for any client. More queries can get you banned from searching Google again. I often get this limitation too and even if I clear the cache and cookies, I still won’t be able to do a normal search using Google. It forces me to disconnect my Internet connection and make a new connection (which obtain new IP because I’m using dynamic IP services) that allows me to do search.

Google have advice us on all the search queries but using it several time can get us banned too. If you are in this field, you should already face this problem more than once a day. There are cases where dynamic IP is useful too even though it is cheaper than getting a static IP. Most businesses will try to get static IP instead dynamic and it is costly too. With growing security measurements installed in major applications online, slight difference or excessive usage can lead banning. Static IP users might have to wait several hours or days for the penalty to be revoked. There you go with one disadvantage of using static IP over dynamic IP. Now, can you add more list of disadvantage using static IP?

Keyword research analysis is the most important value in creating new contents. It can help you target for low competitive keywords and get top ranking and draw almost instant traffic instead of fighting those big giants that have established strong footprint in top ranking for high competition keywords. Use proper keyword density in your article and don’t use excessive repetition or stuffed keywords. It will not only look bad to readers,

4. Not Sales Writing
I am sure if you read any sales gimmick type of article, you would immediately close the page or switch to another. It is the same for your readers. Do not use those bombastic sales page words to push your article. It may drive your visitors away reading the fist line on your post. Writing genuine and helpful content that is readable and doesn’t require high level of language skills to understand will be a good article. Make sure your article is understandable to even 12th grade kids. Although, some technical part need higher skills but the main idea should clear.

5. Share Important Links

Limiting 100 links max per page would be a good idea.

6. Share Relevant Links From Your Blog
This is another way to get your internal pages exposed well enough. Plus, it will encourage page rank flow among internal pages and if it is relevant, this will give heavy credit. So, try to look for relevant internal pages from your blog and link it with proper anchored keyword and dofollow. Slow Internet connection is more than frustration for many people. If you spend most of your time online for work, I am sure you will have hundreds of reason to be mad at slow Internet connection. It doesn’t matter what field you are, Internet dependencies are just getting more with any job scope these days. Boom… In all of a sudden, if there is no connection, then nobody can work in some Internet based company. I am sure the boss also frustrated flushing money during no connection or slow connection working hours to staffs. Slow Internet connection is another headache. I would prefer no Internet connection at all instead of slow Internet connection. I have been using TM Net Streamyx for more than 5 years now and all I can say is their speed sucks. It is terrible user experience and I am sure you will get the same answer from any Streamyx users. Currently, I have upgraded to 4Mb/s speed but the speed is worst than 1MB/s. Out of 7 days a week, only 2 to 3 days I will have the ease of surfing. Other days, it is slow. Calling technical specialist will drag the whole day doing the same repetition troubleshooting.

In United States, the Government is doing their best to provide better Internet connectivity to the users as they have projected by 2020, about 100 million homes will receive at least 100MB/s Internet connection speed. Google have adopted Greenville as part of their ISP ventures that will give 1GB/s Internet connection speed. South Korea topped the World’s fastest Internet Speed with 22MB/s currently. When it comes to Republic of Korea and Greenville, I think Greenville have the better future investments. I am sure many Internet based company will eager to move to Greenville. Greenville might become the new Silicon Valley in the United States. If I have a choice, I will definitely move to Greenville right away. What is your opinion about this?

Twitter and Facebook is the fastest growing social media network worldwide. Of course, Facebook wins if we compare it with number of registered users. There are some people preferring Facebook over Twitter and some others prefer Twitter over Facebook. Basically, most social media expert advices to use both social media network when it comes to marketing. Each platform has its own advantages. I love to play games on Facebook and share it with my friends and family members. Most of the time spent on Facebook by commenting on photos and taking part in games. Compared to Twitter (103k followers), my Facebook only have 150+ friends (family members, relatives and school-college friends). I still spend more time on Facebook compared to Twitter. Sometimes, I don’t even send out one tweet in a week but I will send at least one comment in Facebook in a day. For me, Facebook is more addictive compare to Twitter. With the varieties in Facebook, new users may find it complex and slow. But, those who already used to the system will not give up facebook for twitter. In my opinion, Twitter may take two to three years time to reach current level of Facebook (comparing to registered users, traffic, page views, etc).

However, with immediate response received and the famous retweet options helps get our message viral in Twitter. When it comes to marketing, I still prefer to use Twitter compared to Facebook. The way our message gets viral with RT and chances of getting exponential traffic to our site. I have slowly reduced the dependencies from Entrecard, thanks to Twitter. If you are tired of dropping 300 cards a day to get 100+ UV from Entrecard daily, you should try out Twitter instead. It is a powerful substitute for Entrecard traffic with lesser bounce rate and higher conversion. So for now, I will still use both platform for totally different purpose. Facebook is for playing games and keeping in touch with childhood-school-college friends, family members and relatives. Twitter for blog marketing.

I have been using Windows XP for more than 3 years now and finally have some guts to try Windows 7. I gave up on Windows Vista after using it for just a day and uninstall it and back to Win XP. After hearing a lot of good reviews of Windows 7, I have installed this operating system (OS) in a new partition. I must say it is worth of all good reviews given in blogosphere. It is faster and less prompts compared to Vista or XP. Plus, I love the options to customize windows 7 themes that make my screen looks beautiful. If you are still using earlier version of Windows like Vista or XP, I think it is time for you to upgrade because you will get better experience than earlier versions.

Now, I’m starting to hate Windows XP after using Win 7. It is probably late to move on to Windows 7 by now, but hey nothing is too late right. Next, I am waiting for Google Nexus One phone. It is still not available in Malaysian market yet. If you are already using Google phone, you should be familiar with Android OS. It is not easy to access root file in your Nexus One phone. With root nexus one, you have full control over your Nexus 1. You have the access to root files where you can easily add any applications to your mobile. With recent Google Earth app support to Nexus One (earlier only iPhone have this apps) and growing free apps library for android market, I think this phone stands a better chance compare to Apple iPhone.

Earlier I was using TM Streamyx 1Mb Internet connection where I can get about 100-200 kb/s during peak or off-peak time. I used UTP cable from computer to broadband modem as there was no wifi enabled, plus my computer doesn’t support wifi. Recently, TM Streamyx announced new package (Blockbuster deal) where you get 4MB Internet connection with free wifi modem and free nationwide call for RM160 per month (approximately US$50). I have signed up for this package and get installed with free wifi modem. I was worried that my wifi connection will be used by others and it may slow the Internet connection. Thanks to 13 digits WEP# and port setting where I have limit maximum number of users that can use this connection.

They needed 24 hours to upgrade Internet connection from 1MB to 4MB. The next day, I can see the download rate increased to 3.3MB to 3.4MB using Speedtest and SpeedP1. However, the real download rate is still at 100-200 kb/s. Usually, I will open 50 blogs at once in Firefox and it will take nearly 5 minutes to load all pages. It is still the same after upgrade. After hours talking with several technical specialist in TM and gone through all the process, the speed remain the same. During testing, they asked me to try load local hosted pages. Yes, it is loading much faster now, but not for overseas hosted sites.

As for dropping or link building activity, I need to open thousands of pages where most of it hosted not in Malaysia. So, I guess I just flushed away some money there by upgrading to this package. It is simply not worth the money. If you want to upgrade your Internet connection, make sure they sign up for free trial package and ability to cancel the service if not satisfied. As for Malaysia, Internet service provider service is simply dominated by TM. I hope some company will give them good competition to improve the services. Malaysia is ranked #86 in the world by speed. United States is at 28th place. First place is owned by Republic of Korea followed by Aland Islands, Japan, Latvia, Romania, Lithuania, Sweeden, Andorra, Netherlands and Bulgaria in the top 10 list. I have listed 16 important factors need to be considered in our link building strategy. Getting back links is easy but quality back links is worth the time and hassle. Check below points to be monitored in your next link building campaign. Make sure you have the best benefit from your link building activity to represent better SEO benefits.

1. Relevant
Only build relevant links. In order to get the most benefit for your link building campaign, get back links from relevant site. It will give heavy SEO benefits compared to not related back links. Let’s assume that relevant is the most important factor in link building campaign. Only build relevant backlinks, otherwise it may look like spam and you won’t get the full benefit from search engines either.

2. Domain Age
The longer domain age, the better it is. So, if you get a chance to build backlinks from 10 years old domain and it is still active, get it while you can. Domain age represents profile strength. Getting a backlink from 10 years old domain certainly increases your SERP ranking and PR.

3. Keywords In Domain or Permalink URL
If you find your important keyword is in domain or permalink URL, try to get a link from this page or domain. It will greatly benefit your site for that particular keyword. Keyword used in domain or permalink URL gives the extra strength to your link.

4. Top Level Domain (TLD) Extension (.com, .co.uk, etc)
If you concentrate on local traffic, try to get back link from your local country’s TLD like .co.uk for UK search engine. If you are targeting for google.com then concentrate on other common TLDs like .com, .org, .net, etc. Getting backlink from targeted various TLD to keep variety in your backlinks. Some says, .gov and .edu site back links give greater value.

5. Domain IP
Getting 10 backlinks from same IP is not so good compared to getting 10 backlinks from 10 different IP. Getting unique IP backlinks will show better link value in search engine. If all your backlink is from same IP, search engine might suspect you are interlinking your sites. However, you can always limit to 3-5 links from same IP.

6. In-Content Location
I strongly believe that link from content section is the strongest section. It was sidebar and sidewide link earlier but this type of link loses popularity recently among top link builders. They prefer to get a backlink from relevant content inter-section links. In simple words, a link from blog post or article. A visitor is referred from search engine and shown content as main section. In terms of click-through value, it is still considered the best location.

7. Total External Links (<100)
Monitor total number of external and internal links from main or that particular page. If both numbers exceeded 100, then you should skip this site. Google have the capability to scan more than 100 links nowadays, but they advice us to limit number of links per page to 100. You are only sharing your page quality to 100 links maximum following this method. If you only have 50 links per page, then you are sharing the same benefit to only 50 links. So, the lower number of links per page, the better you back link value.

8. XML Sitemap
Check if the site have sitemap page. It is the basic requirement for search engine to index well on all our pages. It is also will inform search engine on all our new updates. Overall, it may attract frequent search engine bots to the site. Updating your link to the content or sidebar will get faster benefit in search engine if the page gets crawled after our link is up.

9. Content Duplication Issue
Never ever get a backlink from content duplicate site. This type of site could get good ranking in SERP for short period of time. But, they are just waiting to get penalty. Getting a link form this type of site is simply a bad idea. It is considered as low quality site to get a back link from. If you ask me, I would say better get a Big Mac for your family members instead of getting a backlink from a site full of duplicate contents.

10. Page Load Time
Early this year (January 2010), Matt Cutts have declared that they will use page load time as one of over 200 factors in search ranking algorithm. If you find a site that is relevant and well maintained but it is full of flash, ajax, large pictures, etc which may increase the load time. Visitors or bots might not wait for 5 minutes or more to open your pages. You will be lucky if you links is crawled in slow load time pages.

11. Links To Bad Neighborhood
If the website or blog have link to some bad neighborhood site, than avoid getting a backlink from there. For example, let’s say you have a site about fashion and you are intended to get a link from fashion related blogs and websites. You found a good blog that posts about only fashion related articles. But, if you see a link to some phrama, casino, gambling, porn, or adult related links in blogroll or featured. It might be the sponsors that pay the webmaster to get a link from this site. Getting a link from this site will make your fashion site look bad. I don’t want my site to be close to all those spam links.

12. Relevancy Of Outbound Links
Make sure the site that you are going to get a link is pointing to other relevant sites too. If it is about fashion, make sure they link all fashion related sites. If you could find some unrelated links, then you may also can expect some spam link soon to be added beside your link. A proper management and moderation from webmaster required to maintain high level quality of a site. Getting a link from high quality blog is not easy now.

13. Listed In DMOZ, Yahoo Directory, Wikepedia
Check if the site is DMOZ listed. Also, check the site is under Yahoo Directory. A good wikepedia page about the site will be additional profile booster. It is not easy to get listed on those reputable sites freely. It may take time to get approval. Personally, my blog is still not listed in DMOZ after 2 years ago submission. Now, you know the quality of site that is listed in DMOZ.

14. Backlink Profile
There are so many free backlink checker tools available online. My favorite is Yahoo Siteexplorer. It shows the number of back link a site receives. Reputable sites often gather thousands of back links. Some made for link sales site or new site will only have significantly small number of backlinks. It is primarily targeted to increase page rank. Some bloggers who manages hundreds of blogs will employ this technique to increase page rank in short period of time by interlinking own sites. It is not genuine and they may sell off their site or domain whenever they lost interest in it. So, be aware of this type of site which may scam you in link building business.

15. SERP ranking For Keywords
If you manage to get a backlink from top ranking pages for your preferred keyword, there is nothing you could ask for more. It will deliver enormous number of targeted traffic to your site from those top ranking pages. But, it is not always easy to get a link from top ranking pages where most of the sites are high authority and ad rates will be on higher side too.

16. Content Update Frequency
Buying a link from blog that don’t update their content frequently is a bad idea. Updating their content daily will invite search engine bot to crawl, notice on changes, and index the pages on daily basis. You may enjoy faster benefit on frequently update blogs compared to low frequency updated blogs.
