It has been a week now, I have actually commenting to 100 - 200 blogs a day. The Alexa daily ranking and weekly ranking is still below 1,000,000. As far as I know, Alexa still counts traffic that is coming / referred from comments id url.

On my first attempt a few weeks ago, my Alexa ranking boost up to below 30,000 on daily ranking. Then, I let go the commenting part again, the ranking drops higher than a million now. So, my guess is commenting really contributes to Alexa ranking. Maybe, it will take a few days or weeks to see the changes.

Why don’t you try to comment on 100 blogs a day and constantly do that for a week? Share your experiences here. Anyone actually have tried this before? What is the results you get from commenting to other’s blog?

In today’s trend, most of us spend more time on computer. Some of us might have forgotten how to write using pen because it might be a long time before they have actually write something on a paper. My writings looks worst than a grade 3 student. I noticed that recently when helping my father to write some legal notice on a paper.

There is a plus point. I have heard a lot of campaign about paperless office. Save papers, save the world kind of things. So, I’m trying to be eco-friendly and try not to use paper as much as I can. Come to think of it, it has been a while I don’t use pen and paper. I don’t remember when was the last time I have used it. Maybe, 3 months ago or longer.

Short notice, reminders, all are set in cellphone. The more new technologies arrives, the more we avoid papers. How long you have not write using a pen and paper? Just a refreshment.

We don’t have to mention about Entrecard and it’s role to the bloggers. It is simply incredible. We are talking a bout a system that can drive 300 - 500 daily visits to our blog here, that is Entrecard. They, just add another gem in their wings that the partnership with SezWho.

Now, visitors can rate any comments and rate it for Entrecard credits which is used to advertise on other blogs or simply to sell for cash. Now, you can earn Entrecard credits from commenting as well. Another great way to earn more credits and credibility to our blog.

Blogging for income purposes is not an option in today’s trend. Unlike, few month ago (early 2008 or earlier than that), new bloggers can make up to 4 figures income just from blogging easily from paid post networks. Most of the bloggers make money from paid post that is contributed directly from various paid post networks like Payperpost, SponsoredReview, BuyBlogReviews, etc. For new bloggers like me, we make more money easily from blogging through paid post networks compared to advertising slots earnings, affiliates, sales commisions, etc.

Recently, it is not as easy as before to earn money from paid post networks. Reason is, most of the paid post networks still refer Alexa and Google Page Rank to calculate our blog popularity. Most of the post have requirements of at least a few page ranks and high alexa ranking. This preferences hurts most of the bloggers recently because of Google’s page rank attitude and New Alexa’s ranking calculation system.

If you have done any paid post recently, there is a compulsory footnote codes need to be submited together with the approved paid post. When, google crawl your blog and found any “sponsored, review, paid post, etc” in your contents, then they will immediately penalty your page rank to ZERO. Yes, if you have page rank of 4, after penalty it will be ZERO. Do you think, anyone want to pay to advertise and get a link back from a ZERO page rank site? How many paid post you can qualify if your page rank is ZERO compared to 4 previously? Well, based on my experience, I got only 1 paid post in one month compared to 12 paid post in 2 weeks when I had page rank 3. That is about 95% decrease of paid post income.

I’m trying to get back the page rank now and will not jeopardise the page rank for paid posts. Even though the income will be lower, but we can still have some income from advertising channels and paid one way links. How to regain the lost page rank? I don’t know that, but I’m trying to get fresh new one way links from various blogs with higher page ranks. Other than that, I’m trying to be an active commentator. Hopefully, this can change the current situation.

This does not mean that we cannot do any paid post at all. Just, we shouldn’t use paid post networks to do any paid posts. I strongly recommend to deal with the sponsor directly and never mention anything about the post has been reviewed, sponsored, paid post or etc in your post. Try to make the post similar to other posts with the sponsors link. Dealing directly with the advertisers have some risk of not getting paid, but compared to losing page ranks, it is much more relaxing.

New Alexa is good for the advertisers, bad for the bloggers. New Alexa doesn’t recognize visits referred from major traffic generating groups like Entrecard, etc. Bloggers are now back to level one. In order to get higher Alexa ranking, bloggers need to comment (hoping that the blogger will return our visit), search engine optimization (all post must be SEO friendly), or simply become famous to get higher Alexa ranking.

Other than paid post, we can utilize affiliates channel of income but most of the time it is called as scamming your visitors for your own profits. Similar to this post, I have given the link of SponsoredReview and Buyblogreviews with affiliates that is converted to tinyurl to hide my affiliate link. Some even appeared with exactly the same url but affiliated background links.

For those who have good page rank, please take care of it. Those who is getting more than 500 visits a day but still not recognized in Alexa, find a new method and get more traffics that is recognized by Alexa. I will update the list of Alexa recognizable traffics channels sooner.

I’m going to unleash a secret of gathering 500 drops each day (except Saturday and Sunday) for free. We are not talking about dropping 300 cards per day in 5 minutes or 15 minutes. We are talking about getting 500 Inbox drops Inbox each day. It sounds impossible, but try asking the question to the top 10 bloggers in Entrecard family. Ok, now how to find TOP 10 members in Entrecard family? Go to Campaign + Most Popular + No Limit, and you can see a list of cards appear. From top to bottom are the top Entrecarders in the family. You can contact them personally and ask, how many Inbox drops they are getting each day.

At least one of my blog in TOP 10 list for a week now and I’m receiving an average of 300 - 450 drops each day. By utilizing Advertisements, Drops and Commenting you can go far with Entrecard. I haven’t utilize the commenting part yet (as I only comment on posts that I’m interested). Commenting is a powerful tool that can draw unlimited traffic from Entrecard or any other network because most of the bloggers are eager to check their post comments and  this is the highest attraction point for visitors in any blogs. If you have the power to comment and get this privileges, why not grab it.

First of all, how much credits of EC you earn each day from Entrecard? You can earn credits from dropping, clicking advertisement on blogs widget, receiving inbox drops and advertisements. Not to mention about contest, subsribers bonus, etc. Personally, I’m earning about

512EC(Advertising) + 300(Drops) + 400(Inbox Drops) = 1212 EC per day on average basis.

You can easily sell 1000EC at $1.80 - $2.00 on ebay each day but I prefer to use that credits for my advertising purpose. Consider, I’m paying $1.80 - $2.00 each day to advertise my blog. I’ve stop selling EC on ebay but still selling it on my blog at $3.00/1000EC. I have an excess of 40k EC now and want to sell those credits. It is not wise to spend more than what we earn right? I’m earning 1200 EC per day, and I’m spending 1200 EC per day also.

Talk about advertising, please be wise to choose the blog that you want to advertise. Always, check their popularity ranking. The higher popularity ranking, the higher Inbox drops they are getting. So, the higher chance your blog get click. Make sure you promote on those blogs that are having higher Popularity. For example, one blog have Pupolarity ranking of 500 and need 256EC/day to advertise, and the other blog’s Popularity ranking is 1000 and need 256EC/day. Please choose popularity ranking with 1000 than 500 because the inbox drops of blog with 1000 popularity is double than the blog with popularity ranking 500.

Recently, my Alexa ranking dropped terribly because some of the traffic generating site. If no action taken, then, my Alexa traffic ranking can go below 3million (Currently weekly ranking 2.5million) or worst. There are many who don’t bother about Alexa, I really hope our advertisers too. But, most of our advertisers still refer Alexa to value our blog traffic.

So, even if you are getting 500 to 1,000 visits a day and your Alexa showing below 3 million ranking, it is going to be a tough time to find advertisers to place an ad on your blog. Before things get worse, we need to do something about it. So, I go backward to commenting method. It is just I couldn’t let go other existing traffic generating methods, but just will be adding commenting attitude to it.

We are not going to post comment on all the blogs everyday, because this might hurt our blog popularity also. The blogger might ignore our comment. So, I try to leave comment on the blogs and post that I like or know only. I dare not to comment on the post that I don’t really know.

For example:

- I don’t follow up Obama & Hillary match. So, I dare not to post any comment on posts about this.

- I am not a computer or techie or gadget whiz. So, I dare not to comment on those posts either.

I choose the posts title that is common, will read full post before commenting. Plus, make sure don’t write general comments like:

- Nice blog (Avoid)

- Nice layout and nice design (Avoid)

- Just dropping by (Avoid)

I did this before and trust me, it is not the way we can get the traffic. We need to give some contructive comments regarding the post made. This can take attention of the blogger and have higher chance that the blogger will click on our blog and leave a comment too. Always try to give your sincere comments, make sure it is not too long or not too short. Keep it simple and average.

Now, I want to share on the wordrpress widget (tools) to make commenting easier.

1. Akismet
One of the famous spam comment blocker. It works well for me.

2. Subscribe to Comment
Give option to subscribe to comments follow up. This can give your commentators to follow-up the comments on certain posts. This can draw the same visitor to come again, because every time new comment posted, he will receive notification.

3. Show recent commentators (by default in Wordpress design plugin)

4. WP-Gravatar
Gives image to your commentators comments. The image fetched from Gravatar, MyBlogLog, OpenAvatar, Wavatar, Identicon, monsterID or Favico.ico It is not a famous widget, but I prefer to see my commentators pics as well. You can always register your gravatar pic of free.

5. Top Commentators Widget
Shows top commentators widget on main page. This is to encourage your visitors to comment more on your blog. This gives free one way link to their site.

6. Comment Relish
Thank you message for your new commentators. It is a one time message only for your new commentator.

7. MyCaptcha
Adds captcha in your comments. This can reduce number of spam comments. I prefer not to use it yet. Need some time configure it.

8. CommentLuv
Show your commentators last post title and link. The owner runs in his own server and admits that it might slow the load time. Prefer not to use yet.

9. Better Comments Management
It enables us to reply the comment from admin panel without going to the site. Can safe a lot of our time, if we are looking into replying our commentators comments.

I could only find 9 plugins that is very useful and helpful for me. This is the tools needed to increase our  blog comment counts. If you have any good or other recommendations, please feel free to share it with me.

Entrecard is a very useful handy network for new bloggers like me to get hundreds of visitors per day. I’m dropping 300 cards everyday for both of my blog. Entrecard sets its limit of 300 drops for each blog and 600 drops for each IP. I got 2 blogs registered with Entrecard network and both my blogs are doing great now. Getting more than 300 drops a day and holding highest drop rank.

I’m not sure how is the calculation for drop ranks but surely I have sorted below in descending format. What rank are you holding now? Feel like in army forces (LOL!!!). So, if you are looking into advertising on other blogs, please check their drop rank and make it worth for hard earned every single EC credits you are investing.

The higher POPULARITY RANK, the higher INBOX DROPS they received and higher chance to get click on your ads. Please don’t confuce yourself with Drop Rank and Popularity Rank. Both are different.
