Planning is the basic step to for any implementation process. Setting up the milestone planning to reach my first million is the first phase. I have break the target to 11 smaller steps as below:

Step 1 – $1,000

Step 2 – $2,000

Step 3 – $4,000

Step 4 – $8,000

Step 5 – $16,000

Step 6 – $32,000

Step 7 – $64,000

Step 8 – $128,000

Step 9 – $256,000

Step 10 – $512,000

Step 11 – $1,024,000

Currently, I’m halfway to reach the first step. The good point is I just need to reach 11 smaller goals to reach the first million. It doesn’t sound so bad now instead of mere dream. It is possible in less than 5 years or more than 10 years strategies. What I notice is the difference in thinking. I used to think that the day job is enough. I’m earning enough now to live the way I live now which I’m happy. Having this goal defined make me work even harder to make more money. If you ask an SEO on how to make money, he or she will have thousands of ideas but why not many SEOs are not millionaires?

It is because not many have defined a millionaire milestone roadmap. Not everyone bother to make their first million as this may not be their higher priority as well. For me, I would like to take this challenge and teach myself that yes I can reach that million dollar club too before retire. Having goals defined and looking at it every single day makes us move faster and all our actions are goal oriented. It’s not easy to adapt to this characteristic. It does help me in working environment too. Now, I’m looking into my own job KPIs and concentrate fully there.

What is SEO’s KPI? Of course, it is to improve search engine traffic. How would you do that with Panda and Penguin hunting? Can you survive Panda or Penguin hunts? What are steps to take for your company to make sure they are not attacked or punished by Panda or Penguin? From the listed steps, how many have been implemented and how many still in the pending? What is your high priority implementation? What is your medium priority implementation? Did everyone in your team agree with your plan? Would you want to get some vote from your team instead of deciding the priorities yourself? You might have missed some ideas that is critical which may have struck your team members and it is best to brainstorm ideas internally (among team members) before going after external expert’s opinions.

Having proper goals defined is a must step in any project management skills. I believe those with Six Sigma certification guys or ladies out there are well versed in this. Right now, I have added 2 more income channels to my monthly income generation streams. Earlier, I was depending on 3 channels which earn good income too. As of today, there are 5 streams which earns slow but steady income. A small hole can sink a large ship – taking care of the expenditures is the biggest challenge which I can see in this project (Million dollar milestone). In my next posts, I will share my steps on how to face this challenge.
