Topics: Link Building

The main purpose of link building is to promote your website, improve your website rank on search engines and increase the traffic to your site. However, webmaster has three options when it comes to link building; use an automated link builder, do the links manually or just hire a professional to do the work for you. Though simple, economical and efficient, automated link builder is not the best option to go for and here is why.

Misleading
The link builder could be misleading as it sends emails to different websites asking whether they would love to host your links. In most cases, this websites are not related to what you offer at your site and the owners do not even know you though the email gives an impression that the recipient knows you. These blind mails only land in the trash bins and sometimes may cause webmasters to avoid you.

Lack A Personal Touch
The blind mails sent to various webmaster asking to link you lack the personal touch as when done personally. Most people, in spite of automation being so much, prefer a face to face conversation with their client to understand them best. The automated link builders lack this touch and most webmaster do not even bother to get through the contents of the email.

Bulky
The number of work you get to do sorting the many respondents that the automated link builder brings back is huge. You have to conduct a research to make sure you do not link the poor/ obscene sites and at the same time not ignore high ranked sites. This is similar to linking to bad neighborhood sites which will put your site in risk of getting SEO penalty from search engines.

Insecurity
The link builder does not sort the websites by contents they provide and this could be a blow to your site. As much as it creates the popularity of your website, automated link builders could land you in the wrong hands like to a hacker who can hack and crash your website. This is like opening your website to more attacks online. I would personally avoid shark infested area in my swimming practice and suggest you do the same.

Marked As Spammer
This is the last section that any webmaster can be categorized in online world. If you run a business and your website URL is considered as spammer in search engine’s view, then it is wise to close down your website because it won’t be helpful in getting any traffic to your site. Building automatic links can trigger spam alert in search engine algorithm and may mark the site that uses automated link building service as spammer and they will get blocked from top search engines. The website URL can’t be found anywhere in the search engine if it got blacklisted. This could be the last resort of automatic link building process.

Though not yet announced officially, rumors have it that Google has been filtering links created using automatic link builders. This is because the links are not trustworthy and could lead to the abuse of the search engines requirements. So, be wise in building back links and only choose those who you trust in effective link building service for your company. If you are not certain, then do not use any link building service instead concentrate on building new contents that will automatically generates organic back links.

  1. Those reason are very very important because we wouldn’t like to be labeled as spam and we would like to build our own business. Automating it may destroy the names we built. Great tip on adding a personal touch, sometimes it is much better to have a conversation face-to-face.

Even though social media is popular, many people are getting back to face-to-face contact. I think we begin to lose something when all that represents us is a Tweet or message in our in-box. There are many who want that “personal touch.”
