Blogging income is a main source of online income for many full time bloggers and work from home individuals. However, there are many who still lacks in calculating incoming and outgoing links. Remember, links are very important in setting our blog value. Having tons of outgoing links will not be helpful for a blog especially in getting advertising income. Most advertisers prefers to get higher value for their money. They do not want to have a link or banner among hundreds of other banners or links where it may not deliver the results. Each advertiser looking for higher return of investment (ROI) where they needed higher value of return either the number of clicks or link value from the acquisition.

It is a trend among link buyers these days for the blogs or websites to have low number of outgoing links. Some even prefers to have lower than 10 outgoing links per page. There are simple reason of why most advertisers prefers our blog to have low outgoing links. Let’s assume your domain have PR3 and you have 100 outgoing links; then your PR3 is shared equally for all 100 links where each links will get 1/100 value of PR3. If your PR3 blog have 10 outgoing links, then each outgoing links will get 1/10 value of PR3 backlink juice which is 10 times higher value compared to blogs that have 100 outgoing links. As a buyer, we want higher value for our money. If I can get 10x of value for the same amount of money, I will definitely choose that particular site.

It is time to review all your outgoing links. Check on your sidebar, footer, header, content section, etc. Each link that is pointing out of your site is considered as outgoing link. The more outgoing link you have the lower value you will deliver for your advertisers. Personally, I have removed social plugin that have several icons of social bookmarking sites on each post that counts more than 30 outgoing links. Removing unnecessary links in footer, widgets, blogrolls or favorite site links will even save us more links. You can also install SEOQuake plugin to monitor number of internal and external links on any page of your website or blog using Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer. Now, let’s get our blog value up and demand for higher advertising blog income.
