P1 WiMax Is Not Convenient

If you are a full time work at home mum or you run an Internet business, the ability to connect to Internet from anywhere is vital. The same goes to me as I am supporting this blog and other link building services. It is a basic requirement for me to constantly check emails, tweets, comments, etc. I need a better replacement for Streamyx and compared to Digi Broadband, Maxis Broadband and Celcom broadband, I choose P1 Wimax. All three Digi, Maxis and Celcom broadband have one similarity. They provide fast Internet connection that comes with data usage limit of 3GB/month. I need to pay extra to get more data usage. If at any time our usage exceeds the data usage limit, our speed will be reduced to 128Kbps. I wonder how many will fall for their trick that offers 7.2MBps, 10Mbps, etc broadband services which allows low data usage. Personally, I am downloading about 2-3GB of data per day to support link building campaigns offered to clients. So, Digi-Maxis-Celcom broadband is totally out of my consideration. I have no choice left than trying P1 Wimax.

So, I have subscribed to P1 WiMax services as an alternative for TM Streamyx 4.0 Mbps. At first I tried the bulky modem from P1 which is not convenient at all. I must place the modem near the window and it needs separate power supply. The speed I was getting in my area was less than 1.0MB. It is not what I am looking for since I’m already using 4MB home Internet connection. I prefer to get better services for my laptop. Luckily, they have given me 7 days no-commitment free trial. I cancelled this service and asked for better package. They recommended Wiggy modem but also demotivate me saying this modem is not reliable and not stable. I asked the sales person to check the connection in my area using Wiggy and he claims that I’m only able to get 20% signal which is bad coverage. Is this what P1 Wimax really promoting in their “Sudah Potong” campaign? Well, I must ask them to change their motto.

The coverage is bad and the tools they have is not reliable and not convenient. The only plus point from P1 is that they have better usage data which is 20GB per month and if we crossed the border, the speed reduced by 20-30% from their 1-10MB speed connectivity. I wish Malaysia to have better Internet Service Providers who can give real fight to the slow Streamyx that have good coverage. For last couple weeks, the download rate from overseas servers was extremely slow using Streamyx. They provide faster connection for local hosted sites that is hosted in Malaysia. I guess their corridor is still not able to support the demand. Oh my my.. I’m stuck with the slow Streamyx again.
