Are you still depending on your day job income to support your family? Even though, you earn more than you could afford to spend, it is wise to have multiple source of income. You can make some money working from home too. Most housewives today are doing something to support their family too. As a full time work from home mum since 2006, I am able to prove to be a non-depending and contributing housewife to run the family. Some of my friends even quit their job and run an array of blogs and earn more than their day job salary. If they can do it, I am sure you can do it too.
Take notice here that, I am not asking you to quit your day job here. It is high risk to quit job and totally depend on new business. We should give it a try by spending more time and provide better service to the clients without quitting day job. Of course, if you are a housewife, you can do this full time or part time while taking care of your child. There are plenty of ideas to start a new home based business. Home business does not require high investment as you don’t have to rent a premise or hire manpower. With lower startup investment, the risk is relatively low. Plus, if you do it right, it can help you to earn more than a professional earns in office.
Personally, I don’t depend on one source of income because I had some bad experience doing so. I used to get good income from B2B trading business but it all went down after several setbacks from suppliers and customers. Two years of steady business goes down when simple problem occurs and your customer stops sending orders. Now, I have several type of online and offline business going on to support the family. Although, I don’t earn much from these businesses as most of it is still in the beginning phase, it has great future. Who knows, you might earn millions from your home based business one day.

Yes, you are right Atniz. Having multiple source of income is always preferable as we can not depend on day job. We can be thrown out any time with or without notice, if another recession hits.
But to be a work at home, quitting day job, needs extra guts. I prefer to settle a good blog or website with atleast 4 times income of that of my day job and then quit my job. While this is going to be very hard job, but we gotta do it for living a good and happy life.
If you are working for yourself it is prudent to secure as many income streams as possible. Losing your only source of income can be very traumatic, and is best avoided by spreading yourself.
The great thing about working from home is that traffic and commuting is a thing of the past, and just that saving in fuel, road-rage, tyres and time alone is a great motivating factor in taking the plunge.
