Page Rank Updated On 3rd April 2010

Earlier, I have predicted that page rank update will happen anytime between 31st March 2010 to 30th April 2010. The prediction gets true when Google updates page rank yesterday to majority sites worldwide. If you still haven’t notice any Google page rank update for your blog, I suggest you to check for internal page’s PR. It should have been changed by now as you can see some of your new posts from January 2010 gained some PR. There are only three possibility of page rank flow in any updates. First is, gaining which is favorable to many bloggers. Secondly, drop in page rank which is not so good news and thirdly is stagnant page rank. If you have stagnant page rank, it is still considered as gaining because you able to retain your PR value although there is no increase but there are no decrease as well.

As for Atniz blog, I have been expected PR4 from this update but never got any luck. Thank god, I am able to retain PR3 at the moment. Personally, I have not done any serious link building activity for some time now because I spend most of the time in link building services for clients. I guess, posting frequency does contribute some help here. There are many bloggers also claimed that doing daily posts with unique article can get them PR3 without any link building activity. I hope they are right, but frankly page rank calculation involves much complex calculation. The good news for Atniz blog is that, it able to get nearly 100 internal pages with PR. There are one PR4 page and, seven PR3 pages and rest falls in PR2 and PR1. Earlier, I was only having 1PR4, 2PR3 and less than 20 pages with PR1-2. It is to see some internal pages gained strong page rank value from this update compared to last update although the top level domain’s (TLD) PR got stagnant.

Have you check your PR today? Is it a good news or bad news? Share your opinion here.

Having inner PageRank is very good to have. If you have some PR4′s, your site should achieve a PR4 or PR5 in the future. However, Google does what it wants to and there are no guarantees.

I don’t follow PageRank updates that much anymore. I focus my efforts on writing content and SEO. Most of the time, my SEO Blog averages 10 pages per unique visitor. This tells me that when I get visitors, they are finding content the pertains to their interest. Overall, this is good for me and in time PageRank will happen on its own.

My SEO Blog won’t be taken very seriously until it obtains a PR4 or PR5. It is just the way people are in the SEO niche. They still don’t see the value of targeted traffic and how to convert it into cash.

Currently, I don’t sell any products on my blog. I offer free WordPress plugins and just started with free WordPress themes. This is still good for me, because I am still name branding and building a readership. The rest will come when the site matures. I just have to keep working smart and provide good content. However, my content has to teach my visitors something. It really comes down to, what is in it for your visitors”?

Get PR 2 with Blogger is no big deal and now I have PR 3 with my own domain wordpress self hosted. PR 3 for 3 months baby blog!
Hope for the next update I can get 4 or better :)

    Help!!! lol…

As I mentioned before, I had a very old and defunct blog on wordpress.com that was still getting 3k uniques per month for some odd reason despite a PR drop from 4 to 2.

I used that content to start a new blog on a self-hosted wordpress site. Worried about the duplicate content penalty, I decided to redirect that blog from wordpress.com. They allow you to do this for $10 per year by using the domain mapping feature.

After doing this, now all of my overlapping posts that are redirected have been flagged by Google Webmaster as duplicates.

Oddly enough, I thought that I would get another 100 hits per day like the old site was doing, but my traffic has only gone up about 30 hits.

Any ideas on how I can solve the duplicate content flag on my redirected posts from wordpress.com?

  4. Hello Atniz,

I was wondering if you could tell me how to check out my internal pages’ PR. I mean, do I have to check them page by page, or is there any particular tool to know what pages have page rank. I guess I could use them to have a better internal page structure.

Luckily, most of my blogs increased their PR this recent update unlike the New Year’s update (which had been terrible).

Got my upgrade to PR2 – my first for PR1 was a real fight as it took me a whole year to get and then I got it with the last ranking review with was either end of Dec of beginning of Jan – so, yes, I am happy to have moved up one notch. Now to get to PR3 – hopefully by next review by Google which if I understand you may be some time in late June or early July.

    Wishing you continued success

I have been blogging for fun since 2007 and I’ve noticed two important points.

First, I’ve noticed that the worst thing for page rank for a blog is to stop posting content. Four of my blogs had page ranks of 4,4,3, and 3. For various reasons, I stopped posting on these particular blogs. The three oldest blogs have now decayed to page ranks of 2, 1, and 0 respectively. The newest of the four in terms of content is still a page rank of 3.

Secondly, I’ve noticed that cross-linking of these blogs even though some are self-hosted by different hosts, some are on wordpress.com, and some are on blogspot, doesn’t seem to help. None of the cross-links seem to show up on google link searches which is interesting.

Lastly, I think Google now values specific post links rather than blogroll or sidebar links. Also, getting to page rank 4 is not too hard, but it’s a huge jump to get to page rank 5.

    Hope this helps…

  8. I got quite good from PR 0-2, but still below my expectation PR3 :)
Sometimes, I’m confused with PR too how can I build so many links but PR still hardly increase
But others with far less link-building activities can increase their PR easier

  9. My pagerank is stuck at 2 for over a year now. Never gain or loss so far, but ironically all 6 of the blogs I work on or own had exactly the same pagerank after this last round of updates.

    Traveling Suitcase maintained at 4pr
Bridge and Beyond jumped from 2 to 3 pr
Sandy’s space jumped from 2 to 3 pr

So all in all things are looking good, though had fingers crossed suitcase would jump, as I consider it my primary blog, or the one I’ve worked the hardest to move along.

I don’t understand though what you mean about individual pages with different ranks? Can you hop over and explain?

    Thanks
    sandy
