I have been depending on Windows Operation System (OS) since 1997. First, it was Window 95, then moved on to Windows 97. Later on to Windows ME before using Windows XP. That is about 13 years of history using four different Windows platform. About two years ago, I tried using Windows Vista but gave up within a day using it. I hate the slow processing experience and prefer to stick with XP, although I have upgrade memory to 4GB. Recently, my Firefox always gets stucked used up memory up to 1GB. If firefox stucked, basically all the other programs like Chrome, Explorer, Word, Excel, etc slows down as well. It takes a minute or two to open a simple two page word document. I think it is time to move on with new OS, that is Window 7. I guess it is not too late to try out this OS now.
Installing Windows 7 Ultimate version, 64 bits is easy (to support 4GB RAM). Most of the hardware driver installed without getting it done manually (inserting hardware driver CD and install). I have never faced such ease in any other Windows platform earlier. I must say that Windows 7 hardware driver database is at excellent level. Next, it is extremely fast to load the Windows and shutting down compared to Windows XP with basically similar programs running on. I love the interface and default themes used in Win 7. I love to place my taskbar on right side of my Windows. Having sticy programs option with “pin this program to taskbar” helps me to get daily used programs on sidebar. Basically, it is larger version of quicklinks icons.
Most activities are pretty well faster compared to Windows XP. If Firefox hangs, all the other programs runs smoothly, unlike Windows XP where we need to wait for several minutes to open a single file. With Windows XP, I am able to drop 300 cards on Entrecard averagely within an hour. I can drop 300 cards in Window 7 using same Firefox (with similar plugins) within 30 minutes. That is almost half of my dropping time saved. I wish to use Window 7 much earlier because I wouldn’t be frustrated with slow loading files especially when Firefox gets hang. If you are a massive user that your particular program used up huge memory space and slows up your Windows, I suggest you to upgrade to Window 7.
