Dynamic IP Advantage Over Static IP

Are you using Internet Service Provider (ISP) service that provides static IP? That means, particular IP address solely be used by you and no other users can use your IP. Whereas dynamic IP is similar to a tube that has arrays of IP from top to bottom and users who connects to Internet will use the first free IP in the stack to obtain connection. For dynamic IP, if the connection resets or re-connects, you won’t get the same IP connection as earlier because you will obtain next free IP in the IP tube arrays. In simple words, users with dynamic IP ISP services often shares IP. It is good to have our own IP address that represents us uniquely, but it is not helpful if you are in SEO field like link building.

If you are offering link building services or other SEO services where you need to search hundreds of queries using Google; for example to check your website ranking for several keyword phrases or check indexed pages in Google.com or Google.co.uk or other datacenters. There are more queries required to be made using Google search engine to obtain site wide analysis for any client. More queries can get you banned from searching Google again. I often get this limitation too and even if I clear the cache and cookies, I still won’t be able to do a normal search using Google. It forces me to disconnect my Internet connection and make a new connection (which obtain new IP because I’m using dynamic IP services) that allows me to do search.

Google have advice us on all the search queries but using it several time can get us banned too. If you are in this field, you should already face this problem more than once a day. There are cases where dynamic IP is useful too even though it is cheaper than getting a static IP. Most businesses will try to get static IP instead dynamic and it is costly too. With growing security measurements installed in major applications online, slight difference or excessive usage can lead banning. Static IP users might have to wait several hours or days for the penalty to be revoked. There you go with one disadvantage of using static IP over dynamic IP. Now, can you add more list of disadvantage using static IP?

  1. Agree with Jason. The ability to change IP address is important to link builders who want to generate more useful links which can help their site or their activities. They need that advantage in order to survive.

  2. Stephen Oey says:

Dynamic over static IP is very advantageous especially if you’re involve in online business. Some websites have their own way of detecting whether to ban you in their sites or not so having a dynamic IP can be very important.

  3. I must say that some sites are smart because whenever they are banning a single IP address, they also ban the IP addresses within the area. Like what ason said, IP in the same region don’t differ too much.

  4. NLP says:

Dinamic ip will be easier to use for a lot of things , the dizadvantage is that you will never know for sure your ip adress and of course a lot of website dont allow dinamic ip when you register on their website and even if they do you could get problems as you ip will be in conflict with other person ip.

I have a dynamic ip but it only changes in the last two numbers so it is still determinable in some way. The disadvantage of static ip is if some sites accidentally banned your ip without any malicious activity on your part.

  6. Most people use dynamic Ip internet access – and yes. At least it has this one benefit as you have mentioned that one can change from IP to another IP (these come in handy to re-inter the internet when a website, for example, won’t except you.). Although the IP’s don’t differ that much. For example if you are in the US, you will still have a US IP address (in the same region) that will just slightly differ from the previous one you used with your session. Luckily for me I’m not in a link building industry. Thanks!
