Good approach, Technology, especially since you’ll get alot of really targetted followers this way instead of just generating a huge number. Followers are important, but actual readers are essential!

Another way is to search for twitter profiles with a roughly equal (high) number of following and followers in your specific niche. Then follow their followers.

You may not get as many followers than from those follower lists mentioned here, but the followers should have a higher quality.
