If you post a comment on an OPEN forum then you will get a back link through your sig. Something else to remember (meant for those silly "lol", smiley etc commentators). The value of 1000 links from 1 URL is LESS valuable than 1000 links from 100 sites. You also get CLOSED, or subscription forums. They do not allow search engines to crawl their forum content. Only members can see your post and click through. Good article.
