Friends always motivate us and never use discourage words towards any of our actions. Probably, they do not want to hurt our feeling. It is the common attitude towards friends. For example, even if they don’t look nice in dress, who often says, yeah it suits perfect for you. Another example is about our work or design. Friends always give support to our work without showing any negative points. This kind of support is good to motivate us to continue our effort in the field. But, it is not helpful for us to improve our products and services. As for blogging, if you often get, “nice blog, nice layout, great writing, superb color combination, etc” type of comments, you won’t improve your way of writing or blog layout or anything else. Most probably you might continue to offer the same support you have been offering before.
While, your competitors might have move on to next new level, you might still lingering in same old techniques and methods just because you listen to your friends. Sometimes, listening to negative comments from your enemies can help you to grow. For example, if you direct competitor shows your flaws and his strength side, it is time to improve our weakness and make it the strongest part. Friends don’t pin point our mistakes often worrying they might hurt our feeling. I guess that’s what friends do. While enemies or our strong competitors will knock us down as strong as possible to make us look bad in the eyes of potential clients. Listening to bad critics and implement ways to improve our weakness make us even stronger.
Listening to discouragement words might lead us giving up too. But, it is the nature of business where the weak never succeed. Only those who have strong desire and open minded can reach great success. So, wide open “your eyes and ears” and listen more bad critics either from friend or enemies. Improve section that lacks and plant a strong base in your business. Only our enemies and competitors know our weakness and willing to share it publicly just to regain popularity of their own interest. My parents and elders always advised me not to listen to those discouraging words, rather than listen to all positive motivation and critics. It is time for us to show the world that the trend of being 100% positive minded is not going to help us. Listening to bad critics and preparing our self to worst case scenario will increase strength of our knowledge and gain more confidence from people around us.
Agree, sometime discouragement words is better because it is a honest advice.
Yes, it is true. I used to weak. Each time listening to discouragement words, make me to totally give up on whatever I was doing. I guess, time and experience is a good teacher. Discouragement words are sincere advice to us on our negative points that need to be improved.
