Keyword analysis is one of the most important parts in SEO. Using wrong density may lead to penalty. Choosing wrong targeted keywords may lead to years of link building to see the results which are not healthy way for new businesses that have limited funds. In SEO point of view, a smaller keyword will have high competition compared to long tail keyword phrase. Learn how to choose low competition keywords that may draw immediate traffic to your blogpost. You don’t need to know rocket science knowledge to run keyword research. It is as easy as ABC if you do it correctly. Now, let’s start the ABC lesson:
A. Keyword Stuffing
This is the most common mistake many webmaster does. They want search engine to know that these is the important keywords for their page. So, they include these keywords not only in the content section, but in title and description. Title carries more weight compared description or content section. That is why most webmasters like to stuff important keywords in H1 tag. Some even repeat this keyword twice or thrice in the same title. It is obvious that you are trying to rank for this keyword and search engines may not give credit but will lead to penalties. Never ever stuff your important keywords in repetitive manner especially in title or content.
B. Keyword Density
“Keeping Up With The KeywordDensity” at healthy level is where most of us don’t follow. Actually, what is the healthy keyword density rate? I have seen in many webmaster forums, top contributors declare that safer keyword density rate should be 2-5% max in any contents. I prefer to choose 2% here as keeping low level keyword density will make us look more natural to search engine and also reader. I hate to read blogpost that highlight same keywords several time in same post. It is obvious that they are trying to rank for that keyword but it may also lead to penalty if the density is not in right place. I guess only Google knows the right keyword density value here.
C. Keywords In Title
If you are targeting for a keyword in this article, make sure to use it in title. Title tag carries heavy value compared to content section. It is simply the summary of your post. Get the most of your post including the keyword in title.
D. Meta Keyword
Although Google and Yahoo publicly declared that they don’t use meta keywords in their ranking factor. This is still used by other search engines like Bing. So, make use of this meta tag with an average of 5-7 keywords per post. It may help you if Google or Yahoo starts to use this tags in future search ranking algorithm.
E. Keyword In Meta Description
Including your vital keyword in title is sufficient to help in ranking. Description should solely used for summary of your blog post. Imagine the meta description as your sales page. You need to write 160 letters of sales page in meta description tag. You need to convince visitors from search engine to click on your link. Stuffing keyword in this section is a bad idea if you already done it on title. Make use of this 160letter sales page as appealing as possible. It will increase your click-through rate from search engine.
F. Keyword In Content
“Keeping Up With The KeywordDensity” level at 2% per article gives you 98% to write unique contents that is related to the topic. You can make use of keyword synonyms in your content instead of using your important keywords repeatedly. This way, your content will be more relevant to your targeted keywords with healthy density level.
G. Keyword Competition
Never ever chose high competitive keyword for as your targeted keyword in any article. Not only it is impossible to get high ranking for those keywords in search engine results but you may be wasting your time. Make use of free keyword tool to find low competition keywords. Sort “Global Monthly Search Volume” and choose the lowest number. If possible, try to keep it lower than 1,000 average monthly search volumes. Now, search this keyword in Google (.com, .co.uk, etc). Check for “Results 1 – 10 of about 14,700,000” which show it have 14.7million competition pages. Try to target other keyword that have low average monthly search volumes and results page. Now, target this keyword in your content with above tips.

Excellent post. We got rid of Meta keywords as they’re no longer useful by Google. Didn’t know Bing still used them though.
