It is a dream come true for those who want to work full time from home or when travelling. Probably, this is the reason why many starts blogging. It is a new way to earn money online from blogging. But, what are the requirements to become full time blogger that enables you to leave current job or taking blogging as your new career? But, will that be possible as there are millions of blogs online. Can you really make that much money from blogging? Most bloggers earning figure shows that they earn money from their through various channels like advertising, affiliates, services they offer, ebooks, etc. Blogging alone will not help us to work from home full time.
There is no such thing that a blogger can fully survive by blogging only. When it comes to blogging, you must learn SEO and improve your blog ranking and appearance in search engines eye. If you are a fashion blogger and don’t concentrate on SEO points at all, you may not get advertisers as much as those who SEOed their blog. Blogging doesn’t stop at creating contents only. It needs us to engage in social media, link building, content creation, forum posting, SEO, etc. It is the way to attract more visitors to our blog instead of depending totally on search engine traffic. A good traffic measure should come from all sources in order to get stability income.
For example, if you are getting almost 90% of your traffic from google and all of sudden google found your site against one of their guidelines, they may lower your rank which will deliver almost zero traffic from them. This will only lead to destruction and worse if you are fully depending on one blog. Blogging can only be your part time income and should not made into full time work. You need to include other services or business apart from blogging in order to work at home full time. For example, being a link trader, SEO, selling some items in ebay, affiliate marketing, etc should be your main source of income. Blogging should supplement your income and should not be main income. This is the only requirements to be a full time blogger.

Agree with you that we should learn how to optimize every aspect in blogging instead just blogging.
