Weblogs, most commonly called as blog are slowly turning into traditional type of blogging. Taking a look at the concept of blogging, that is meant for personal diary once upon a time. It is where we talk about something that is in our interest. The same way, Twitter (also known as micro blogging platform) attracts many users worldwide and it slowly turning today’s blog to traditional type of blogging. With its function and traffic, microblogging platform slowly takes over our traditional blogging trends. We can create faster interconnection and get informed with Twitter compared to blogs. With Twitter’s exponential growth and global giant company’s participation, it looks like they are heading in right direction.

On the other hand, blogs still manage to get top ranking in search ranking and it is a place to share more contents. With blog, we are not limited to 140 letters which is still a winning factor for blogs. Since, content is still king of SEO, blogs will survive from Twitter’s growth. I’m not entirely saying that blog will be dying in future but there are chances. Plus, it is just another technology that evolves as time passes. We can see the news about earthquake in California spread so fast in Twitter and Google (Twitter updated search results). The trend and importance are given to Twitter more these days compared to blogs. Most search engines have upgraded their search algorithm to show real time search results from Twitter and blogs. I noticed that a tweet is easy to get indexed faster compared to a blogpost.

In any way, it is good to go combination with weblogs and Twitter. It is a win-win situation to work on Twitter and blog together. New contents can be updated daily on our blog and we can get free buzz from Twitter. There are plenty monetization option available for both blogging and Twitter account. Get paid to tweet and get paid to blog with your preferred programs. Personally, I have nearly 80k followers on Twitter; some advertiser willing to pay up to $300 per tweet. Obviously, Twitter is as good as blogging to make money online. This is definitely good news for full time work from home mum and dad.  I don’t know the future of blogging industry, but I’m prepared with both Twitter and blog. How about you? Are you still neglecting Twitter?
