Trackbacks and spamming is very common nowadays, especially in the world of SEO. It is one of the common source to gain some rank but somehow it is not advisable to use.

I did the same when this blog was dofollow. But, the spam comments still pouring in. I guess a good captcha will save the day.

I was spending so much time deleting SPAM that at one point, I had to disable comments. Annoying and time consuming to say the least.

You need to check this sites. Is it automated site. I prefer to give the backlink if the site is genuine and the writer refers our site in the blogpost.

I understand how you feel. I am doing the same thing too. Almost 30-50 spam comments daily and most of it from unique IP. So, it is hard to control with IP-Ban plugin.

I get about 2 per post but I never knew its for spamming purposes , I usually get trackbacks from wpmash and toppy, is that considered spam or can I approve?
