Next Pagerank Update Prediction For 2010
By now, most of us already know that Google page rank (PR) update takes place every 3-4 months once. I am not a big fan of page rank but it is still a good measurement to calculate number of quality backlink a site or page received. Pagerank is still one of the measurement factor in setting advertising value for a website or blog. Most advertisers still prefer to get a dofollow backlink from high PR relevant quality sites. Although, Google don’t allow us to sell or buy links with dofollow which may lead to penalties, there are still many bloggers and webmasters sells links that passes PR juice. Most advertisers believe that nofollow tag added link have no value at all.
Anyway, it is truly depend on the advertiser and webmaster to sell or buy dofollow links. Penalties from Google can lead to pagerank drop or pagerank removal completely regardless of 3-4 months period. It won’t take 3 or 4 months for Google to give penalty to site. This means page rank update will take place for 3 to 4 times a year. If your site drops in pagerank not during the major pagerank update means your site might get some sort of Google penalty. Let’s talk about the history of pagerank prediction. For last two years, Google updated pagerank widely to most website and blogs online just before New Year.
I have noticed that twice, once by end of 2008 and the other end of 2009. So, my guess will be the same for 2010 too. I have seen four updates taken place in year 2008 and 2009. I assume there will be four updates in 2010 too. Since, last update done before New Year that is 31st December 2009, next pagerank update most probably will take place by 31st March 2010. If Google follow that 4 months once update, then the next pagerank update will take place by 30th April 2010. The reading of following pagerank update will be adding another 90 to 120 days from March or April 2010. The same cycle goes for every pagerank update. Below is the next page rank update prediction for year 2010.
First Page Rank Update: 31st March 2010 – 30th April 2010
Second Page Rank Update: 30th June 2010 – 31st July 2010
Third Page Rank Update: 30th September 2010 – 31st October 2010
Fourth Page Rank Update: 31st December 2010
Popularity: 24%

I think as you can see from your dates, Google is making it unpredictable so no one can have an idea when it will come back.

Pagerank is unpredictable. No one actually knows the real date. So, all we can do is guessing.

Very interesting this PR thing … I gather that one of the benefits of a high(er) PR is the ability to attract advertisers to your site vs just putting up affiliate banners. From your perspective what are the main performance factors that advertiser look for, and what is the appropriate fee schedule for what sort of traffic?
Wishing you continued success …………..valentina

There are so many factors involved in setting up value for advertisers.
Advertisers are attracted to high PR or high traffic. If you have good Alexa ranking but low pagerank, you still can get good advertisers. The same goes, if you have PR7 but millions of ranking in Alexa, advertisers will still pays good for it.
It is totally depending on where we can excel.

Thank you …. this is something that I am aiming for this coming year (my year two in the blogosphere) and it gives me at least one (or two) of the benchmarks. Of course I imagine it goes without saying that actual eyeball traffic to a site is also a major factor.
Awesome Success to You in 2010 & beyond

There could be some other reason as below:
- Your backlink removed
- Your backlink quality dropped (more links added in the page)
- Your backlink turned to nofollow
You can check your site if there is any SEO penalty at http://www.seopenalty.com/ or http://tools.lilengine.com/penaltychecker/
Let us hope this is not a penalty.
Let me know if you need any assistance.

I’m saying its not just that, your h1 tag is an image which Google cannot see, if you disable your style sheet you home page its just a long list of internal links, no content is displayed so google doesnt know what you do plus you have 80 w3c errors and 18 warnings, to mention a few.

Wow this is probably the best blog I’ve commented on. You guys are really helpful. It seems like we were doing fine as we were ranking on page 1 for all our keywords and keyphrases but have dropped a bit. We’re still up there but noticed that some of our keywords we would drop 2-4 places. Do you really think the W3C errors and warnings make a big difference?

W3C is one basic rule in onsite SEO. A simple error can effect our ranking compared to those who have good W3C codes.

I have worked on the keyword geek gifts before and its very competitive, plus honestly who is ever going to type in the word with UK on the end, look using googles own tool https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal the searches for “geek gifts” on a broad match in December were 3600 and with the “UK” it only got 22 searches. I can help you if you like? alan@justsearch.co.uk
