My Best SEO Resources

Topics: SEO

There are plenty of SEO blogs, forums, tools, articles, etc available online. As an SEO, we must use several search engines and browsers to test any results. So, here I have a list of resources that helps me well on all SEO requests.

SEO Blogs / Video

1. Matt Cutts
- Here you can get almost all new updates, answers to several important questions right from person who is on Top Level management in Google that handles Spam division.

2. Google Webmaster Help on Youtube
- You can post your question in any recent youtube video and you might get your answer replied in next video. You can learn all updates from Google right from it’s beginning viewing older videos.

3. Google Webmaster Blog
- Any missed SEO tips or upgrades that Matt Cutts doesn’t write or talks will be updated here. Other Google staff will likely explain so called “hidden gems” from Google’s products to us. Most of the tips are useful for webmasters.

SEO Firefox Addons

1. SeoQuake
- There are many function available from this addon. You can identify nofollow, pagerank, whois, alexa, compete, archives, sitemap, etc from one extra toolbar. I still prefer to use this compare to Google or Yahoo toolbar.

2. SearchStatus
- I love this plugin to identify nofollow links. It helps to highlight nofollow links. A good combination with SeoQuake to identify nofollow links.

3. SeoBook Toolbar
- There are plenty function and tools available just like SeoQuake from this addon. I love the “Rank Checker” tool that enables us to check our current ranking in search engine for particular keywords or keyphrases. It is time consuming to check website ranking scanning page to page in search results for targeted keywords. Plus, I can’t find any other free tools that check our website ranking for particular keyword in several search engines with a single click.
If you want to learn SEO, I suggest you to subscribe to all three blogs and youtube videos and check on all articles and videos posted on SEO. Next, you should install all three addon to your Firefox and start analyzing links and sites.

SEO Forum

1. Digitalpoint Forum
- There are plenty of SEO related forum but my favorite is Digitalpoint forum. Personally, I have learned a lot from this community. There are a lot of SEO experts helping out new webmasters or SEO workers with nice list of resource. I must say, this is the best SEO forum and you should be part of it. Learning is always easy if you are active in this forum. Plus, there are plenty of ways to earn some money while learning new stuff.

2. Google Webmaster
- This is the official Q&A provided by Google to all webmasters. The forum is useful to get answers regarding Google SEO questions. Sometimes, we can get direct answers from Google staff. When it comes to Google SEO, most experts only can provide assumption, prediction, guesses but only Google staff knows better about their product right? Well, thatis just my opinion in gathering valid informations.

I try to get as updated as I can on SEO and guidelines. Thankfully, or I would have never known about the new FTC rules that took place on December. Better safe than sorry they say, especially in this field.

        • Atniz says:

Yes, you are right. FTC is trying to impose hefty penalty for each undisclosed paid post. I guess they should realize that bloggers are not getting paid that much for a single post.

A few other resources that I read daily:

        - SiteProNews.com
        - About.com SEO Class (I get it in the email-box)
