  1. I have to say that the main reasons I have hiatuses in my blogging is that something happens in the ‘day job’ or in my life in general that swallows up time.

    I guess that it just indicates to me that blogging is yet to become a fully fledged daily habit in my life, like taking meds or cleaning my teeth. When it gets to that stage I’m sure I’ll have no problems.

    I made a public resolution yesterday to post daily to my blog in 2010 – it’s a biggie but I think it will give me the habit / discipline I need.

    As an ‘oldie’ of 48 I guess I have different conflicting demands on my time than many people do, but as I’ve been a professional author for half my life I just regard blogging as another place to write for!

  2. Neo says:

    I blog for time pass and to share my knowledge with everybody….
    I don’t blog when I feel tired, depressed, frustrated, bored and I don’t know what to do in life….hehehe

    Thanks

      I guess, we can create a post about our depression, frustration, tiredness and we can still manage to get some good advice. Just like a pat on back.

  3. This is one of the sick of the bloggers nowadays. We all have our own reasons why we haven’t updated our site for a several days, and one of the best reason is busy with the current job we are doing.

    We need a good motivation in blogging.

  4. Salvia says:

    I’m always facing some of those 9 reasons. Additionally when I get time to write about my blog, I won’t be having enough mood for doing it. Also sometimes if i’m staying with friends definitely they won’t allow me to think for writing.

  5. blogging is an easy way to earn online. I have been blog almost 3 years and it give me huge of profits.

  6. kyle says:

    For me blogging is the jump start of making money at home. While gathering some information to veteran you gain also experience to handle a real time experience.

  7. Benjamin says:

    You already gave two lists which cover a lot of reasons to blog or not to blog. I would like to add to your lists…

    My reasons for not blogging:
    * busy with social marketing.
    * meeting friends, going out.
    * tired.

    My reasons for blogging:
    * to get feedback.
    * to get (virtual) social connections.

  8. Luana says:

    My reasons to avoid blogging during the week:
    - not to spend too much time on the computer
    - focus on studying/offline hobbies as well
    - avoid addiction
    - I have more than 150 blogs, so I can’t update them all everyday (I update max. 6/day)
    - too many posts may be too much for my readers to keep up with what I write without skipping some

    Motivation to blogging:
    I don’t update my personal blog too much, but I do with my fictional characters’ blogs, since even paid posts and random ideas are enough to create a new day in their life and have fun with it. :) Also, having them interact with people is fun and a nice activity that makes me meet more friends.

  9. Why avoid blogging?
    Too many things and goals to do might be one of the factor. Besides, most newbies will quit blogging if they don’t start earning. Remember blogging can’t be used for instant money, just keep quality contents and you can earn money far easier

    Blogging motivation:
    Specific goals can motivate you to continue blogging like your expected income, readers, subscribers etc.
    I also notice that if you have told your blogging goals to someone else, you’ll push yourself harder to prove your ability and credibility. It’s a good way to keep motivating you :)

  10. From my own experience, I tend to reduce my blogging time during my final test time. I can’t do both blogging and study hard at the same time :)
    But my deep desire to earn money online always push me to blog and write new contents seriously. Personally I expect to earn $500/month from blogging. That goal has become a very nice motivation for me to keep blogging

    • Atniz says:

      Wonderful! It is good to blog and learn to earn some money while still studying. I’m sure you will reach your target soon. Just keep blogging. Plan yourself with more pre-written articles during test period. It will help your blog up-to-date.
