Google always surprise us with immediate mass page rank update without any notice. It happens just before New Year this year too. Many webmaster starts reporting and sharing their gains and loses of pagerank in forums and blogs recently. I know it is quite late to write this post about pagerank update. As for this blog, the PR is still remaining as earlier that is PR3. But, there are one internal page reach PR4 and 3 pages reach PR3. So many internal pages gained PR 2 and 1 too. From 300+ indexed pages, almost 100 pages gained pagerank.
I never really concentrate on blogging recently with no new link building activities and lack of new blog post updates. I guess retaining PR3 is already a gift for 2010 from Google to Atniz dot com. Pagerank is still one of the factor in Google ranking calculation and it is not completely removed from their algorithm. Google only removes it from their Google Webmaster tools but it is still available in Google toolbar and other SEO toolbars like SEOquake, SearchStatus, etc. It shows that pagerank is still one valid ranking factor that is visible to all especially advertisers and SEO professional.
Most link sales and paid post networks still prefers to have dofollow link for their advertisers. As an advertiser, they prefer to get dofollow link in order to increase SERP ranking and Google pagerank. So, as long as pagerank visible to public eye, advertisers will keep hunting for dofollow links. My guess on next page rank update is on March or April 2010. Two years ago, Google update their pagerank at end of the year (December 2008) as a gift for New Year. They repeat the same step for 2009. I guess they will do the same for 2010. At least, we can predict one PR update in a year now.

Some of my websites had PR increase from 1 to 2 even with paid posts, which was awesome.
Big G. has been kind this time. And they reconsiderated some of my sites pretty quickly too. I had 2 blogs dropped too, but I may ask for a reconsideration in a few months of time.
