I Wish To See Family Tree On Facebook
Nowadays, we can find almost anyone on Facebook. I have managed to convince all my family members to use Facebook and they are extremely happy using it. Finding long lost contacts, classmates, friends, family members just got easier with facebook. What I love to see in their application is “Family Tree” function. Currently, there are several free and paid family tree services available online. But, I wish to see them active and get connected or communicate. Almost all my cousins are a facebook members. I can immediately build 100 family tree members using Facebook if they offer this service.
Recently, Facebook announces on how they handle death user’s account. Friends or family members should let facebook know with proper documents that the person is deceased to protect spamming and security. I can say this is one unique service that no other social media offers. Being the largest social media network in today’s world, I think implementing family tree service will not be a tough task for Facebook. Creating connection from school, college and friends already have been a common function in other social media network.
It is boring to create family tree on our own by submitting details of each members. With member’s details in Facebook, I can only see growth in their network if they implement this service. Currently, I’m using MyHeritage that allow free profile update of 100 members in each family tree account. Uploading photos, email, contact, address, etc need to be done manually. We need to pay monthly fee if our family tree is more than 100 members. So, it is good to simply create connection (family tree) among facebook members that are related and use it completely free. I even have a title suggestion for it called “Bloodline”. So, do you manage any family tree at the moment?

Just knowing that we have to pay for myheritage.com when our family members more than 100. What about offline version, do we have to pay too?. In case of family tree app on facebook, I am very dissappointed by disrupted ads on it. Bad ads placement.

Atniz, this is quite a good thought. I think you are becoming innovator day by day. lol
That will be sick right. May be we can research in these lines and bring the best feature in FP. May be Facebook team have a look at this idea.
Back to the point – Having a family tree can certainly help. That will bring good user experience and ease of operation. But will it not have any adverse effects. We need to talk about this. What if some one hacks our account and enters into your family

Family tree is just for fun and sometimes we tend to learn better about our own history.

I was busy with some personal work and always try to avoid blogging. I thought this is it, time to quit blogging. But, I couldn’t do that because I still have readers like you to keep me blogging.

I’ve seen too many situations where facebook has caused issues, I’m not a fan. Too many kids fail to realize what they post on Facebook is not as private as they might think.

Agreed. Facebook is similar to other social network. But, here if we are connected to family member, things can get awkward.

Currently, I’m also using My Heritage but it’s quite hard when I have to do it manually one by one and every detail. Herm, at least your idea about Bloodline in Facebok may help the heritage grows easier.

Friends, family members, relatives, co-workers, and more in Facebook but many will just waste time playing some games.

Great idea! And one that I would use.
But “Bloodline” isn’t going to work…they’re is already a vampire online game called Bloodlines…and people get confused very easily. You’ll be trying to post about your cousin and someone will go and try to drink their blood…it just won’t work. (Ha-ha)
