Do It Yourself SEO Can Be Disastrous

There are so many blog and website owners trying to implement search engine optimization section on their own. Everything is good if we are on right track and not against search engine’s terms and conditions. When it comes to coding, a simple error can lead to fatal results from search engine point of view. I have seen many websites with simple coding error in their web templates lead to error message from Google and completely removed from their listings. Learning SEO can be easy for basic implementations but business complexity is not easy. Some websites provides unique services and functions that need serious attention.
Giving a link to other sites is good and motivates your visitors to visit other sites that you find interesting. If this site marked as bad neighborhood by search engine, your blog or site could get some penalty for giving a link. Sometimes, we don’t have control towards these links as it may appear in templates designer or advertisers link on footer as a credit to the template owners. Randomly choosing templates from any developer for free can lead to this problem. Getting a backlink from page or site that has more than 100 outgoing links will not be helpful. Investing money to get such a backlink considered as flushing away our money.
Too much emphasizing on one keyword or phrase can lead to spamming too. Image that takes ages to load will increase bounce rate. Before implementing new SEO campaign or design, try to get opinion from several people in SEO field. Make use of SEO forums and ask many questions before implementing any new method. It is not an easy task to completely understand SEO concept and that is why SEO services is expensive. If you are totally new to SEO and have established company to get SEOed, I suggest leave the SEO part to the professionals. Sometimes, it is good to let professionals to handle instead do it yourself. We want to improve our ranking, not to make it worse.

Atniz, great site! I visit your blog regularly for your SEO updates since you do a good job of staying up to date.
I do have an unrelated question for you. Recently, I’ve been reading about the demise of the blogroll. Some bloggers are suggesting that new Google algorithms are starting to ignore blorolls?
In the past, I had read that blogrolls usually linked from every page on a blog and therefore transferred more page rank than post links.
What are your thoughts?

If you are worried about pleasing Google then I highly suggest using Google Webmaster Tools. They generate a small amount of code to add to you website to prove that it is yours and then you can get all kinds of information regarding how Google views your website and what you could do to improve it.

Thanks for the information Atniz.
I do think you still can learn SEO by yourself. If you have a new blog or website and experimenting is not an issue to your Google PR. It just need a lots of reading and net searching.
Professionals help will make it easier though but not every SEO expert really do what you pay them.
PS: Do you have any new backlink list for sale?

I have to agree with oes tsetnoc. It is very time consuming and tedious and many times when i have been sitting here writing blogs, replying to blogs and writing unique content for my site that i thought is it worth it because nothing on search engines for my site seems to be happening? But slowly i noticed my site moving up. When i started i was on page 27 of goole and now i’m on page 1. This is out of 60million results that google pulls up for my key word. For my other key word i am on page 2 and thats out of 240 million results. I have no training or help and have’nt brought any links, this as all been done myself over roughly 11 weeks to get where i am now. I think seo is easy but boring as hell. You just have to keep at it day in and day out to see the results. Like anything, you only get out what you put in,thats the way of the world my friends.

While I can accept your words, DIY seo can be interesting. We do work and see results. While this can be complicated for business websites, for personal websites I can assure you that DIY seo is the best. For business websites it is obvious that SEO outsourcing is the best. So we gotta play around this based on our needs.
