GoodBye To 2 Million Twitter Followers From Miley Cyrus
Would you imagine of deleting your Twitter account with two million followers? Well, that is what our celebrity Miley Cyrus did. She just deleted her twitter account with 2 million followers and made a rap song about it. Amazingly, it got more than a million views on youtube. Looks like Twitter is not so important tool for her. Let’s see if there are any other celebrities following Miley’s step. Is it arrogance to simply delete an account with 2 million followers? What is your opinion on this action?
Here is the rough lyrics for this rap song:
Yeah, the rumors are true I deleted my Twitter
Can you believe it, I got to 2 million
I say adios, I have to say good-bye
And this little rap is to tell my fans why
No it wasn’t because my friends told me to
You all know very well what you say I don’t do
The reasons are simple I started tweetn’ about pimples
I stopped living for moments and started living for people
Yeah you write what your doing but who really cares
If I’m playing with Noah or just doing my hair
Everything that I type and everything that I do
All those lame gossip sites take it and they make it news
I want my private life private, I’m done tryin to please
I aint live n’ for tabloids, No, I’m live n’ for me
No more emo quotes and fake feuds with Demi
Yeah, I’m done with all that and the truth is I’m too busy
I gotta admit I miss Dane Cook’s tweets
And I really like lookn’ at Katy Perry and Brittany!
I might have some withdrawals, I was a little obsessed
But I’m peace n’ out and I’m leavin with this … Good-Bye

I am not a famous blogger yet. Hope to be one soon. It is a good way to create good communication with your readers.

No it is not arrogance to delete your Twitter account, because a Twitter account only works if you enjoy it — if it fits your style. Everyone has their own style and their own way of communicating. For some it’s Twitter, for others it is a weekly or daily weblog, for others a vlog. The number of followers has nothing to do with it, but I think Miley Cyrus was brave to take this action, which probably will be criticized by people who don’t understand. .

President Barract Obama admits that he never use twitter personally. So, there might be some manager who takes care of it. If a star that don’t find to to manage their social network, I think it is time for them to hire someone to handle them since money is not a problem for them.

I actually think she hit on an important point, more than 1/2 the tweets are really useless. The signal to noise ratio is significant.

Maybe she just get tired with the idea and its her choice to do it and I think we should respect it. By the way, I don’t like the rap

It’s her account and she got full rights of it. From the marketing point of view, it is such a waste since Google and Yahoo starts to show latest tweets in their search engines.

I actually can’t figure out how to handle more than 500 followers. I never see my partner’s tweets and most of my friends unless I get a mention. So 2 million followers? What is the point? But as some other people said above, she does not need to market anything and has enough money…

Actually, following two million followers can get us headache because it is simply not easy to read any tweets anymore.

Hey there Reena,
I think this is a publicity stunt. She’s been in the news for all kinds of things that she should not be doing and to be quite honest, I think she got rid of the Twitter account because she didn’t want another means of the public to bash her for inappropriate choice of words.

Yeah, I guess so. Another way to look at it. Nowadays, any simple personal tweet will hit the major news media.

Keep in mind that the way Twitter works is that you write stuff and people follow you if you are interesting or famous. She could have just stopped twittering, but there would have been no impact (and where is the fun in that?). So, by deleting her Twitter account, and making a YouTube video about it, she has intentionally put the spotlight right back where she wants it.
I didn’t like her father as a singer, and I don’t have much time for her music either, but if she is doing what she wants, then that’s great.

Twitter is used as professional media by many artists and politicians. I guess she is just can’t handle it anymore on her own. Get a manager, is my best advice.

Just a lame publicity stunt. Wait a couple days and she’ll rejoin Twitter and get her two million followers bcak plus another 2 million.
Too bad that tactic didn’t work for all of us.
