There are no easy ways to find out any SEO penalty imposed to our website or blog. Of course, there are plenty of ways that can lead us to penalty. From simple link exchanges also can lead to penalty. As long as, we follow google webmaster rules, we are on safe side. Considering almost 80% search engine market conquered by Google, getting penalty from them simply takes away our money from the table. So, it is extremely important not to go against the Google TOS and continue to add more quality contents and backlinks to bring our blog or website to next level. Here is a list of tools that can help you to run Google penalty check.
There are plenty of ways and tools to detect SEO penalty to a website or blog. However, I follow below three sites to detect any penalty issues:
1. Content duplicate
- Check using Copyspace on any copied contents from web used. Sometimes, high authority sites that copied our contents can lead us to content thief. Try using Google parameter handling tools to deal with duplicate contents.
2. Bad neighborhood Links From Your Blog or Website
- Check if there are any sites that you have mistakenly link from your blog either from paid links or blogroll. Sometimes, these sites are marked as bad neighborhood sites in Google and giving dofollow links can lead to penalty from Google. Check if any of your site links are linking to bad neighborhood sites.
3. Paid Links With Dofollow
- Usually, Google unable to detect paid links that sold directly. Let’s say a buyer contacts you directly and request for a link to buy from your site. Only if the buyer has tons of paid links or some of your competitor complaints about paid links with passing page rank value or dofollow to Google, they may detect it. Sometimes, writing paid post with dofollow link to advertisers can lead to penalty too. Google allow us to sell links on our blog or website, only they ask us to add rel=”nofollow” attribute to paid links from blogroll, sidebar or paid posts.
4. Excessive link Exchanges
- Exchange links with friends and family members is to keep close contact. But, excessive link exchanges can lead to penalty too. Long list of blogroll or friends and family can lead to penalty.
5. SEO Penalty Check
- This site helps me to check any URL on SEO penalty points. However, there are no detailed information given here. It is just guidance for us to dig further on penalties on any website or blog.
6. Google Banned Check
- There are several tools provided online for free to check our site gets banned or not from google. For example: iWebTool, Selfseo, etc. These are useful applications for Google penalty checker on domain level.
If your blog is under Google penalty, try to identify the cause of your penalty. If you couldn’t find, then try to post it on Google Webmaster Help Forum with your link and problem. There are many experts in this field will help you out and if you are lucky, some famous Google staff will reply too. Then, request for reconsideration from google webmaster tool.
