Search engine optimization (SEO) is a new trend of making money online and many are self promoted as SEO expert these days and offer some kind of service. If you want to hire SEO, it is good that you know some basics about it too. I would say 90% of SEO is backlinks. I’m sure many will agree to this point. I have seen many websites and blogs with lousy onsite SEO and still able to rank #1 for high competition keywords.
We need to spend more time on studying the value of backlinks and its effect on SERP ranking especially on Google. Pagerank is not so attractive anymore for advertisers to get good conversions. As an advertiser, good SERP ranking will look more appealing and we may have some confidence to get good return of investment (ROI). A website, blog, forum, sales page, etc that rank #1 for any highly competitive keywords are most likely will attract advertisers in their niche. To get rank #1 needs good SEO service. If you are good in pushing any site to first page or first rank in google, then you might have money printing machine on your own.
