SEO Is Money Printing Machine
It was known Pay Per Click (PPC) as a money maker few years ago. I would say it is still one of the best money makers for those who have mastered it. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a new trend of making money online and many are self promoted as SEO expert these days and offer some kind of service. If you want to hire SEO, it is good that you know some basics about it too. I would say 90% of SEO is backlinks. I’m sure many will agree to this point. I have seen many websites and blogs with lousy onsite SEO and still able to rank #1 for high competition keywords.
We need to spend more time on studying the value of backlinks and its effect on SERP ranking especially on Google. Those who have mastered this skills able to create one crappy landing page or website that sell affiliate products and SEO the site to rank #1 for some highly competition keywords. I have seen sites that make 10-20 affiliate sales a day just selling one single product with 500-700 unique visits referred from google. Of course, the sales page are very compelling and the rate is not too expensive (<$10). There are a lot of high paying affiliate sites that pays up to 75% commission from product value on Clickbank or other networks.
Getting to the first place for highly targeted keyword is like winning jackpot. Even a small space of 125×125 can be charged at $100 or more. Pagerank is not so attractive anymore for advertisers to get good conversions. As an advertiser, good SERP ranking will look more appealing and we may have some confidence to get good return of investment (ROI). A website, blog, forum, sales page, etc that rank #1 for any highly competitive keywords are most likely will attract advertisers in their niche. To get rank #1 needs good SEO service. If you are good in pushing any site to first page or first rank in google, then you might have money printing machine on your own.

Don’t depend on software when it comes to link building. You can check or analysis on any site using software. My favorite is websitegrader. I really agree that publisher target the keyword instead the pagerank this day. It is more fair advertise system though.

I agree. Relevancy helps to get good ranking in google search engine. But, a link still a link and will contribute towards our ranking. Either it is nofollow or dofollow it matters.

Its amazing how many businesses have been spawned from SEO/PPC there are companies that solely handle PPC management. It certainly prints money for them.

SEO is 90% backlinks but it shifted from any backlinks now more towards the relevancy of the link source and contextual factors. Will be interesting to see where it goes from here.

It is interesting to see the progress of backlink importance. Nowadays, google is pressing on contextual and relevancy a lot on backlinks. I’m also waiting to see next preference from google on backlinks.

In google’s view, link is a link. The value of backlink varies. Of course, relevant links will have more weight but tons of not relevant links can over weigh relevant links. Other factors like domain age, total outbound links, unique IP, unique domain, location of backlink (footer, sidebar or content), etc plays important roles too in ranking calculation.
