Twitter is one of the fastest growing social networks all over the world and some research valued this platform pricing more than a billion dollar. No doubt that it is the next big thing for social media networks. Recently, I have started a polling on Atniz dot com sidebar and able to gather 134 votes unique votes from August 28th 2009 to current date. I just wanted to check on average how many twitter accounts each twitter users have. Results are almost half of twitter users have more than one account.
Here is the result:
1 Twitter Account – 53% with 73 votes
2 Twitter Accounts – 22% with 31 votes
10+ Twitter Accounts – 12% with 16 votes
5 Twitter Accounts – 4% with 5 votes
3 Twitter Accounts – 4% with 5 votes
4 Twitter Accounts – 3% with 4 votes
7 Twitter Accounts – 2% with 3 votes
8 Twitter Accounts – 1% with 1 vote
I assume that those who have more than 10 twitter accounts goes all out to tap twitter traffic for online marketing purpose. Twitter TOS doesn’t allow us to create mass number of accounts which may lead to closure of all accounts. Personally, I suggest having 2 accounts per user, one for business and one for personal and family members.

There are many reason why someone create more than one account. It depends on the individual. As long as it is still low number of accounts, I think it is fine.
I guess that is not surprising considering that many separate business and personal on Twitter, hence the large number of 2 accounts.
Usually, each business prefer to have their own twitter account. If a person own 10+ business online, then he should prefer to have 10+ twitter accounts too.

Yes, 2 accounts per person is definitely more than enough. But, for those online marketers, we need more than that. In fact, twitter starts to deliver some quality traffic too.
