I agree. I try to keep it minimum on IP to block. So far, I only block 20 IPs, able to reduce almost 98% spam comments (average of 200 spam comments each day).

That is a problem. But, usually spammers use same IP. I have blocked almost 20 IPs and reduce almost 98% (that is about 200 spam comments a day).

Yes, it is. I’m using dynamic IP Internet connection too. But, from blocking top 20 IP that frequently sent spam comments, I have reduced almost 95% of spam comments. Usually, spammers use same IP. You can see how many attempts have been made by this IPs.

It is a wordpress plugin. If you have a blog on wordpress and getting hundreds of spam comments a day, you will find it very useful.

It is normal to have huge spam comments on dofollow blogs or famous niche like seo, real estate, health, loan, etc. I just blocked about 20 IPs, and I can see less than 10 spam comments caught in akismet each day. Plus, each IP blocked have attempted more than 10 times in a day. I think it helps to blog.
