There are many ways to build quality backlinks and one of the most preferred way to many is trough article submission to article directories. There are hundreds of article directories and some gives dofollow backlinks with anchored keyword in author section to the writers. Relevant contents and dofollow keyword anchored backlinks is what we all need to increase SERP ranking in search engines. But, there are one similar mistake done by many article writers and submission service providers.
It is true that if you submit articles on 100 different article directories with anchored keyword backlink on author section, you will gain 100 backlinks from all different unique domain. But, what they usually do is submitting the same content on 100 article directories and expecting to get 100 backlinks from this submission. Remember, Google and other search engines filters copied contents. The first article directory that gets crawled and indexed from 100 directories that we have submitted with same content, will get indexed. The balance 99 article directories will get flushed on duplicate content issues.
So, it is a real waste of time to submit on multiple article directories with same article. If you can take 2 hours to write one quality article, then you can spend more time re-writing the same article again and again. If you want to submit to 100 article directories, then, re-write this article 100 times before submission. Always make sure to check Copyspace for any copied issues on any of your articles. Copying articles can get our site penalized from search engine too. We are finding ways to improve our site ranking not the other way around.

Yes you have pointed out the correct thing that submission of same article to different directories may invite search engine penalties…Anyway Atniz if I can submit my article to 5 topmost directories with some moderation in the articles I think it is okay….What do you think about this method Atniz?

As long as your moderated articles are copyspace pass, I don’t see any problem there. In fact, many service provider of PR or article submission do rewrites.

Speaking from personal experience, this is pure BS.
Article marketing gets you banned from google… not because of the high link volume… but because it puts you in a bad neighborhood.
Every SEO spammer in the world who buys links also submits junk to article directories. In Google’s eyes, you’re being linked from a web site that also links to known link buyers and spammers.
This is very bad.
Also, blog spammers lift articles from these directories, and run them through auto-rewrite tools. So when they use your article, it’s like getting one more link from a spam neighbourhood.
Save yourself the trouble. Avoid article directories at all cost, and avoid SEO “experts” who claim that this is a good strategy.
There are so many ways to get good backlinks. I don’t know why anyone would rely on this.

I am not a fan of article marketing too. But, I have seen many who have gained good serp ranking from article marketing alone. There are hundreds of thousands outgoing links from article directories but as long as we can get a link from relevant article with good anchored text, it is still going to benefit us.

I was unaware of that. I have not ever tried to do article submission but what you have make perfect sense. Could you though re write the article or rearrange it so that it isn’t marked as duplicate content?

Yes, you can do that as long as copyspace free, your rewrite articles are good to go as unique. Many article marketers uses spinner software to generate hundreds of article from one article.

Article writing is an easy way to make money from home. with the experience you get to know how you can re write the articles..even you can do article writing from home so this is helpful in making money online.. but the one thing you need to know is that your article must not be COPIED…

This was one of my earliest SEO mistakes. I wasted so much valuable time submitting the same article to all these directories not realizing that there was little to no value in doing that. I am even hesitant in using services such as Unique Article Wizard. Has anyone had any success using these article spinning services????

I have never used any spinning article softwares. But, there are still many article writers offers to submit same article on different directories on DP and other webmaster forums.

I never tried article marketing yet. What if the content is modified using article spinner (am I correct?). I heard some of my friend talking about this technique before.

Yes, you can use article spinner but the readability is very poor. As long as you can get it approved in directory and copyspace passed, you are safe.

Spinner software often makes the articles sound like garbage. They just fill it with keywords and do not pay attention to the wording. I’d be careful using something like that.

I have tried some article writing ,but what i done is just post it on my other website as what you have said in your article. I really do not know that google will filter the duplicated article, but luckily you have taught me a lesson so that i will not repeat my mistake. Thanks to you.

The main difficulty seems to be writing good quality articles and submitting them to reputable sites. A good article takes a lot of hours to research and write. However if submitted to the right sites, the quality of backlinks is worth the effort.
