Traffic Equals To Money
Do you own a website or blog and unable to earn any money from it for months or years? Have you spend money on advertising your blog to get more traffic? Have you worked with any SEO to improve your SERP ranking and search engine ranking? Whatever it takes, increase traffic to your blog or website in order to earn more money. The more traffic you make, the more potential a blog or website can make money. Even though, we don’t have own products to sell, placing some related affiliate links will definitely pouring some money at the end of the month.
If you just started a blog or website and complaining that your blog or site is not making money, I think you should start developing some traffic building methods. There are so many ways to increase traffic to our site. I have managed to double my traffic compared to January 2009, also the earnings gets doubled too. In my math, traffic is equivalent to money. Keep this in your mind and always recall it whenever you want to make money from blogging. Any blog that gets good number of traffic definitely makes good number of money too.
When it comes to advertising value, some advertisers still looks for pagerank and dofollow link. Selling a link with dofollow might get us penalty from pagerank and SERP ranking. So, it is wise to follow Google’s webmaster rule on buying and selling links. Sometimes, it is tempting to see the money offered by advertisers to get a link back with dofollow. Frankly, it is totally depending on your risk taking policy. You are safe as long as the big G doesn’t detect or no one complains about it. Business is competition and we don’t know who might start complaining about us to google. I prefer to go with google webmaster rules. Even, the Ultimate Fighter John Chow who makes $40k/month from blogging bows to Google’s TOS after 3 years of battle.

I do not have that much traffic yet but I am working on it. I also follow Google’s webmaster rules. There’s no use fighting the Big G. You will not win anyway.

Traffic is the key to make money but to be even more specific you need search engine traffic. Social media sites do bring in traffic but rarely will you make any money off of them, especially if you are using Adsense to monetize your site.
Search engines will send you targeted traffic if your site is optimized for what the search traffic is looking for. The more traffic from this source the potential for money in your pocket!

Exactly. Search engine traffic is one of the most converting traffic that spends a lot of time on our blog. The bounce rate is also low if they can find contents that they have been looking for.

It is good that you are working on your link building. Slow and steady is the best way. If you can find easy way to find backlinks, you would have been getting hundreds of thousands of backlinks in short period of time and google might have mark your site as link farming site, which is bad for business.

I am a total newbie to traffic building but I am trying to do some Seo work and use titles I would use to type in the search engine aka long tail keywords as such. I am also thinking of starting a local foodie guide..people like to know good places for eating out wouldn’t you agree? Your Alexa looks pretty cool there on the right hand side too I must add!

Yes, that is a good idea. I wanted to share some nice place to visit here in Penang.
Thanks for the comment on Alexa. I’m trying to break that 40k barrier. Just get more traffic from various sources, you will see your Alexa boost too.

No joke it is all about risk, trial and error.
I have a website and a few blogs. I have tried a lot of different ideas and suggestion. I find the best one besides lucking out on a good selling market is to travel through other sites and blogs.
I have also found that it is money saving to do my own traffic driving.
Thanks for the info and I love your accompanying photo.

You can sell some space for advertisements. Create a banner space (large, moderate to small) and sell this space. Also, running some adsense and text link ads like infolinks.com will earn some revenue to you based on clicks you get from their advertisement slots. Just make sure not to participate in any click promotion or self click as it may get our account banned with loss of current earnings.
