swine-flu-h1n1-outbreak-treatment-preventionYesterday, I took my baby to a private hospital in Penang for a routine vaccine injection. My baby also was having slight fever and he sneezes when he cries a lot. I got shocked to see almost 7 out of 10 people (patients and staffs) wearing mask in the hospital. We were not wearing any mask and feel not so good about it. H1N1 outbreak is at peak now in Malaysia. We were advice to immediately take bath after return from hospital. Frequently, wash our hands and avoid bringing baby to crowded places or hospital. Also, if we coming into the house from outside (usually from crowded place or hospital), immediately remove the clothes and take bath before touch anyone.

I don’t keep track of H1N1 stats but I remembered looking at google mapfor H1N1 and it was about 2105 confirmed cases in Malaysia update on 7th July 2009. Recently, I read a news article in local news site, the confirmed case are now at 5800+ with today’s new cases reach 380 numbers. That is about 300% increase in 6 weeks. I’m sure the numbers going to increase much higher than this rate. All this while, I always complain about working from home as I don’t really enjoy venturing new places. Certainly, the timing is wrong now. I am thankful to god for giving me an opportunity to work from home.

Please check H1N1 symptoms, prevention and treatment I think it is best to get some back up medicine for H1N1 while stock last. Currently, the H1N1 medicines are pricey and I don’t see any chance that it can go cheap or easily available, especially with exponential growth of new H1N1 confirmed cases rate. It is the time to use your resources to get this H1N1 medicine ready stock for your family members.

  1. Wow that is pretty scary. hopefully it won’t become as wide spread here in the states, but who knows? The best thing for everyone to do is to make sure they wash their hands often and like she said try and avoid crowded places and especially hospitals.

Exactly. Prevention is better than cure. Plus, we actually don’t have a good cure now. So, I can’t see anything than prevention as a better choice that we have left.

  2. i think it is only a matter of time the same thing happens in my place too. I just pray that someone will find a working cure at reasonable rate.

This disease could be more lethal if we not pay attention and give necessary treatment to eradicate the virus

  4. PHCSICare says:

The health care authorities are saying that this viral infection is not as dangerous as “Dengue” fever which is prevalent in our place. But disease is a disease and we should be very aware of this.

    • Atniz says:

Maybe, the H1N1 rate is still lower than dengue fever cases. I agree with you on “disease is a disease and we should be very aware of this.”

Herm, I also not take it seriously for this while because I don’t see it’s serious enough at my place. :P

Government just counting down the death toll but I hardly can’t see any proactive measurements taken by gov to prevent H1N1 pandemic.

Here in the UK, the rate has slowed down but experts attribute this to the school and holiday break and predict that the rate will go up in the autumn.

Sorry to hear that Hitesh. I think it is only a matter of time the same thing happens in my place too. I just pray that someone will find a working cure at reasonable rate.

This flu is dangerous as doctors and researchers are unable to come out with real effective medicines, treatments and solutions for it. All they say is take care for prevention. I think that since this is a flu we should be very careful so that we don’t catch common cold at first…

    Thanks

    • Atniz says:

It is getting dangerous these days as the rate keep on increasing. Many organizations are working closely to find a good working cure for H1N1. Hopefully, they can find it sooner at cost effective rate.
