How does it feel when your Internet connection unstable or always disconnect? I have been facing the same problem for last couple of weeks. The Internet Service Provider (ISP) companies are coming up with huge bandwidth offers at unbelievable lowest price. The lack of upgrading their fiber cables to support exponential usage growth can kill the business. For example, if you got a deal of 10Mbps download rate and 1Mbps upload rate, try to ask your ISP providers on average download and upload rate. Usually, if you can get 20-30% is considered good enough.
Sometimes, ISP will have smooth download and upload rate on local hosted websites. Problem downloading overseas hosted websites or files is too common in many ISP these days. If you have chance to try your ISP service before signing up contract, try downloading files from overseas hosted sites. This way, you can evaluate your ISP download and upload rate. Next, you can also try to check your download and upload rate from several different servers located worldwide at Speedtest.
If your job scope is depending on Internet connection, try to have multiple ISP providers to support your work online. Slow internet connection could affect badly our online business. Currently, I’m having 2 ISP providers to support my daily blogging and seo works. This way, you can compare ISP services in your area. Try to find best providers and don’t let slow internet connection limit our online expanding. There are 6 ISP providers in my area. I have tried 3 of it, and can’t wait to try another 3 service providers soon. How about you? How many ISP service are you using? Are you happy with the current service?

It’s good if you find the service provider that you are satisfied with. Not many have the same luck.

One problem that I encounter from providers is that they are saying that there’s no problem on their areas but the connection is so slow, slower than the dial-up.

They always says that when we call them up to complain about slow internet connection. I hate calling these call centers to lodge slow internet connection report anymore.

Good to hear that Marly. I’m happy for you. Not many will get a good ISP service and we are flushing away a lot of $$$ each month for this terrible service.

That’s good. As long as you are happy with their service.

I’ve had problems with speeds when it comes to broadband, they never seem to give you what they promise, I think you should always take into consideration that they cunningly place “upto” before the speed, to try and slightly cover themselves!

That is the sales word “upto”. That is why I always don’t believe this sales people. It is better to ask from friends about it. I thought broadband sucks in my place only. Looks like it is the same everywhere.

I’ve had big problems with ISP’s lately and now come to the conclusion that its worth paying the extra money and going with one of the older, more traditional and more expensive suppliers – you might pay a bit more but you seem to get a faster, higher quality service,

I agree with you Tom. Older providers are expensive but the speed is there. I’m still using one of the first ISP in Malaysia till now. Of course, sometimes, the connection sucks, but overall it is better than some new competitors.
