When working on CMS applications using dynamic urls, there is usually a option to make those long dynamic urls sef (search engine friendly), which converts all your linked pages on the fly to a new shortened url. For example the long dynamic url could be www.mysite.com/index.php?=zyb1bcid=576article?=bbc543= pretty ugly url if you ask me. Changing to sef url would be like www.mysite.com/articles/atniz-rocks-seo Now, what if you have a site with 1000 pages and want to change the dynamic urls to sef on the fly, but not lose all those indexed pages with link juice? Normally you would have to manually write 1000 301 redirects and add to htaccess. Time consuming and a major pain in the proverbial neck. How would you go about handling this?
