How I Know Dofollow And PageRank

embarrassment-punch-shame-faceI am not a master of pagerank and dofollow but I able to learn about it because of interest. Today, I’m going to share a story of how I got this interest. Just about 1 and 1/2 year ago, when I was blogging with blogspot blogs, I was using “U Comment I Follow” badge on one of my blogspot blog (have deleted this blog). I believed that this badge means if anyone comments on our blog, we should comment back on their blog. At this moment, I was not aware of pagerank or dofollow movement at all. So, I continuously comment on blogs of those who comment on mine for few months.

One day, a 16 year old girl contacted me via Entrecard message and let me know that I should remove this badge from my blog as my blog is nofollow. And she contacted me via Entrecard because I was extremely active on this network. I got shocked hearing this and I doubt that “Did I miss to comment on someone’s blog that have commented on my blog?” It’s funny when you don’t know about the true meaning of something. I look like an idiot to this girl, and I have further embarrassed myself telling that girl that I’m commenting on all commentators’ blog.

Luckily, she is polite enough to ask me read about dofollow and I have immediately removed the badge from my blog. When you start reading something that makes you embarrassed, it can keep you going further. So, here I am now with a collection over 2k dofollow blogs and supporting High PR Dofollow Blog Commenting service to clients. And, it helped me to learn more about SERP ranking in google. Basically, that 16 year old girl gives me an inspiration to earn thousands of dollars online. I feel so bad that I didn’t save her contact details to share it here.

  1. Haha, I bet she is sad too. I’m sure she would’ve appreciated a link back to her blog as a thank you, lol. Especially after all your success, lol. Just kidding.

I have the same question with Noridah, is there any tools to obtain the follow/nofollow status?

Are you accepting link exchange with a low PR blog? Thanks in advance :)

    • Work At Home says:

I have answered Noridah about it.
” Select any blog post that have comments on that the commentators leave their URL when commenting.

If you use firefox, install Searchstatus plugin and select highlight nofollow links. This will highlight nofollow link in the comment section. If it not highlighted then, it is dofollow. You can also, right click on any commentators name, and check properties. If you can’t find any “nofollow” or “external nofollow” then, it is most probably dofollow.”

I’m not doing any link exchange and I suggest you not to also. Google don’t link link exchanges. They can give some penalty for doing so, please refer http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66356

when my blog is dofollow, i get little google index page,,,, so i change my blog to be nofollow again,,,,, and i get higher index page from google than before…….

    • Work At Home says:

That is a good news. Dofollow blogs have PR leakage problem. We give PR juice to all commentators. This may effect our presence in google’s eye. But, it is depending on the blog owner. I want to give credit to all my commentators. A simple reason to be a dofollow blog.

Would you be interested in writing for The Neave Online Publication? I love your writing style and I feel like you would fit in perfectly with the other writers.

This is my second time reading an article on your blog and I love the way you write, I owe Karen from Blazing Minds a big thanks for pointing me in this direction.

I actually have an article on deck discussing this very same issue with the I Comment, U Follow folks. It would be nice if there were a few tools like Firefox add-ons that would show Do Follow or No Follow info.

    • Work At Home says:

Yes, there are several tools that you can install on your firefox addon to check dofollow and nofollow. I suggest these two plugins:
      1. Searchstatus (set highlight nofollow links)
      2. Seoquake (set underline nofollow links)

  6. lunaticg says:

    Haha…
I thought I am the only one who do this one.
Remove them now. Look like the person who started that badge just want everyone to link to his blog.
    What a shame.

  7. Noridah says:

How do you know which blog is dofollow. Using any tools?

  9. Glad she was polite, there is nothing worse than someone who contacts you and is abusive over the smallest of things ;)

    • Work At Home says:

Yes, I’m glad she could answer me politely too. From then on, I always contact any blog owners who have this logo but their blog is nofollow. Sometimes, the plugin might not be working and we might unaware of this situation.
