I am great fan of durian (local famous fruit) especially durians from Balik Pulau, Penang. Recently, I drove up the Balik Pulau hill to get some fresh durian from roadside stalls sold directly by some farmers. There are many durian trees on the way, but I couldn’t see any durians on the trees. There are only limited durians available now. It is going to be end of July, an end of first durian season of the year in Balik Pulau, Penang.
The farmer told me that durian season comes twice a year in Balik Pulau. One is during June to July. Next, will be October. If you want to get Balik Pulau durian (one of the famous durian in Malaysia), you should visit Penang during July or October. I got to know about this only after 8 years stay in Penang. Probably, I got less interest in durians compared to blogging.
I can share a lot things about Penang here. Penang is known for it’s variety of food. From now on, I will try to post some of the best place and people around this island. You can find it on Penang tag or category on sidebar. Since I work from home, I can’t find any good reason to go out except for purchasing and marketing. So, I don’t really have the opportunity to explore this beautiful island. At least, it gives me a reason not to just sit at home.

Durian is very delicious but I really don’t like the smell,…and the worst thing I ever done is when stored it on the refrigerator,…

I hate to place durian in refrigerator too. Even drinking water smells like durian.
