Average Blogger vs Super Blogger

I noticed that super bloggers like Shoe, JohnChow, DarrenRowse, etc makes five or six figure income monthly. It is not as easy as it seems to make that much money from our blog alone. Most of them have their own line of products or promoting certain products. If you look at John’s monthly income summary, it shows that most of his income is from affiliate. So, he earns good money from affiliate marketing using his blog. For an average or new bloggers, getting affiliate income is not as easy as what other super bloggers earns.
We need to depend on paid posts, paid links, adsense, banner advertising, etc to supplement our blog income. So, getting a good advice that helps us to improve our bloggin and SEO skills from average bloggers would be very helpful. Because, it is the most practical way of blog survival. To get a $20/post paid post approval for a PR3 blog with good backlinks and Alexa ranking is not easy. Plus, most advertisers request for dofollow link which could get penalty from google.
Personally, I would suggest those blogger who looking for more income trough their blog need to work on traffic. Concentrate on getting traffic and always learn how to improve traffic and implement it on your blog. Consistently updating blog contents with new blog post, involving in several social network and a little SEO works could skyrocket our blog traffic. The best survival tool for all new bloggers and average bloggers is traffic. Improve your traffic and everything else will come in order. For me, the best traffic sources is from google search engine.

No matter how you slice it, it always comes back to the same thing. Good content. There are always tricks to building traffic, but the tricks only go so far. Without good content, no one will come back. You lose that exponential growth component, and that’s the key to every successful blog. And, therefore, the key to generating big revenue from a blog.

Hello Atniz,
Even attracting traffic is not a easy thing to do.To bring traffic you need to lot of things.Don’t you think that bringing traffic and affiliate marketing are joined with each other like a cycle. To attract traffic you need to do affiliate marketing and to increase your income from affiliates you need to increase traffic.
Thanks

They two come along but it is surely not for an average bloggers like us. For super bloggers who have 50k rss subscribers and 100k twitter followers, it is a lot easier. For each post, they could get thousands of visits. Affiliate goes easy there. But, I would like to address opportunities left for new bloggers. I hope this won’t break them down from blogging.

Good advice, if you have the traffic it will be easier to move into the affiliate market and gain trust and /or some type of notoriety hopefully. Lets just hope one picks the correct niche.

Sometimes even with good content, it is hard to get the traffic in due to low the blog visibility in the market.

Agreed. Content can’t work alone. Content and link building are like life partners. Both must come along to get success in website/blog.

One point that I have learn from JC is that one of the key to success in blogging is the “passion or love on it.” In this way, things can be much easier.

The super bloggers got where they are today from a substantial amount of work. Work on content. Work on traffic. Work on networking. You have to put forth the effort to succeed, as in any occupation. Many think they can come online part-time and make a good living. I suppose that’s why you run across so many websites and blogs that haven’t been updated in years.

I agree on that Jake. But, I’m tired of reading advertisements like work from home, earn from blogging, spend 2 hours a day, blah blah blah. You know, during economic downturn, many could fall for this type misleading information. Blogging needs serious commitment if we really want to earn good money. We need to spend some time learning SEO stuff any apply it on our blog. Learning ways to improve traffic with minimal bounce rate and applying it. It will definitely takes more than 2 hours a day. That is why most of the bloggers gave up blogging. I would say, the more time we spend, the better future we can get from blogging. It’s all about the commitment and time we are willing to spend. Not just 2 hours a week or 2 hours a day.

Generating a great income through your blog is possible if you make it a point to invest in your SEO skills. But success through SEO takes a long time isn’t it? Is there a faster means?
