Sad Story For Entrecard

sad-faceIt is really bad news for all Entrecarders that this site have been sold to new owner. Probably, Graham got a good deal there. Looks like the main problem he couldn’t control over is paid ads system. There are many Entrecard members don’t allow paid ads including me. I mean, he is the one introduce EC credit system that can do the buying and selling stuff online with background of its members. It’s too late to discuss about this matter anyway.

For those new bloggers out there struggling to get traffic to your site, I’m still strongly suggesting Entrecard that delivers 100 – 200 visits daily provide you drop 300 cards a day. However, I’m not recommending it’s paid ad system or advertising section as the bounce rate is still at highest rate (My entrecard traffic bounce rate = 90+%). Check you blog analytics. I’m sure yours would be something similar to this rate too. They must do something about this. I’m sure they will get hundreds of opinion from its members on how to reduce this bounce rate, if they willing to ask.

Frankly, I still couldn’t find any other referring traffic website that delivers traffic like Entrecard before (not direct or search engine traffic). Overall, Entrecard is still one of the best referring traffic site to bloggers for free. I have been with Entrecard for 1 year 3 months now. With all those upgrades, downgrades, limitations, paids ads system, etc; I still couldn’t find one good reason to leave this network. I just hope the new administration will take proper steps in order to get Entrecard at healthy stage.

Entrecard is a platform of thousands of bloggers dropping cards on each other every single day. It is the way to let blogger know that they have visited your blog. It would be good if you return the visit and drop a card on their blog. The process goes on and on till you get good traffic from there. I’m getting 100+ visits a day from this network. They have beginners free ebook for perfect guide, maybe that will be useful. http://entrecard.com/static/entrecard_official_ebook.pdf

Er, why is it sad exactly?

About the worse thing that could happen is it keeps going on as it is. The best is that the “new” owner kicks it up the arse and gets it into shape.

And the new owner isn’t actually new. He was one of the original investors. Perhaps Graham didn’t so much jump as was pushed?

  3. Hey it is a sad story and we can only hope the best to entrecard. By the way, is the high bounce rate using entrecard will effect my blog in a long run?

Hey I do agree with you that Entrecard needs to take some strong steps to curb bounce rate and further I also want to say atniz that what’s wrong in accepting paid adds.
I ask you simple question that if you do not earn how could you give to anybody. Thus if entrecard earns and that it gets income from paid adds only so I support entrecard and entrecard paid adds.

    Give your genuine openion

Right before this post, I was accepting paid ads. Now no more. I got strong reason why I don’t accept paid ads anymore.

      1. I place 100k for cashout, no response since first day they allows it
      2. Reduced to 50k for cashout, still no response
      3. All of a sudden, received email from the owner saying sold the site.

Looks like he have scammed all of us and still able to sell the site for a good price.

  5. Wait, when you say “This site has been sold”, do you mean atniz.com or entrecard? I just found this nice website and I hope it isn’t getting sold, heh.

    Let me know, thanks.

I agree that despite its problems EC is the best system that I have tried. I don’t think that its problems are hard to solve, so I’m hoping that with a little effort the new owners will be able to address the main concerns that users have.

  7. I don’t like entrecard. I thought it was going to be dead. Look at it forum. It’s nearly dead. But someone bought it. Let’s see what will happen

  8. I actually added EC last week on one of my blog and what I found about it which makes me decided to remove it again is that the paid ad keeps on popping on the EC widget even I didn’t approve it. But I still got one blog that utilizes it and I am still checking if it really does something good to my blog.

    • Work At Home says:

Yes, it is. High bounce rate is not good for business. Having a blog profile with high bounce rate will drive our advertisers away. Also, it shows that your visitor just drop on first page and click close. Not good for business. Try to get other source traffic instead fully depend on Entrecard to reduce overall bounce rate.

Hi, just find your blog accidentally. It is like a magic to know that a year blog can has 48000 Alexa rank.

And thanks for the entrecard info. Gonna try it.
