Sad Story For Entrecard

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You can also follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!

sad-faceIt is really bad news for all Entrecarders that this site have been sold to new owner. Probably, Graham got a good deal there. Looks like the main problem he couldn’t control over is paid ads system. There are many Entrecard members don’t allow paid ads including me. I mean, he is the one introduce EC credit system that can do the buying and selling stuff online with background of its members. It’s too late to discuss about this matter anyway.

For those new bloggers out there struggling to get traffic to your site, I’m still strongly suggesting Entrecard that delivers 100 – 200 visits daily provide you drop 300 cards a day. However, I’m not recommending it’s paid ad system or advertising section as the bounce rate is still at highest rate (My entrecard traffic bounce rate = 90+%). Check you blog analytics. I’m sure yours would be something similar to this rate too. They must do something about this. I’m sure they will get hundreds of opinion from its members on how to reduce this bounce rate, if they willing to ask.

Frankly, I still couldn’t find any other referring traffic website that delivers traffic like Entrecard before (not direct or search engine traffic). Overall, Entrecard is still one of the best referring traffic site to bloggers for free. I have been with Entrecard for 1 year 3 months now. With all those upgrades, downgrades, limitations, paids ads system, etc; I still couldn’t find one good reason to leave this network. I just hope the new administration will take proper steps in order to get Entrecard at healthy stage.

    Hi!
It is a sad story and we can only hope the best to entrecard. By the way, is the high bounce rate using entrecard will effect my blog in a long run?

Yes, it is. High bounce rate is not good for business. Having a blog profile with high bounce rate will drive our advertisers away. Also, it shows that your visitor just drop on first page and click close. Not good for business. Try to get other source traffic instead fully depend on Entrecard to reduce overall bounce rate.

I actually added EC last week on one of my blog and what I found about it which makes me decided to remove it again is that the paid ad keeps on popping on the EC widget even I didn’t approve it. But I still got one blog that utilizes it and I am still checking if it really does something good to my blog.

EC is unstable now because of its current situation. I hope everything will be in order as Phirate back in admin. He is good to handle those stuff.

I agree that despite its problems EC is the best system that I have tried. I don’t think that its problems are hard to solve, so I’m hoping that with a little effort the new owners will be able to address the main concerns that users have.

Hey I do agree with you that Entrecard needs to take some strong steps to curb bounce rate and further I also want to say atniz that what’s wrong in accepting paid adds.
I ask you simple question that if you do not earn how could you give to anybody. Thus if entrecard earns and that it gets income from paid adds only so I support entrecard and entrecard paid adds.

    Give your genuine openion

Right before this post, I was accepting paid ads. Now no more. I got strong reason why I don’t accept paid ads anymore.

    1. I place 100k for cashout, no response since first day they allows it
    2. Reduced to 50k for cashout, still no response
    3. All of a sudden, received email from the owner saying sold the site.

Looks like he have scammed all of us and still able to sell the site for a good price.

Yes, it will if your main source of traffic is from Entrecard. Try to get traffic from other sources as well.

Er, why is it sad exactly?

About the worse thing that could happen is it keeps going on as it is. The best is that the “new” owner kicks it up the arse and gets it into shape.

And the new owner isn’t actually new. He was one of the original investors. Perhaps Graham didn’t so much jump as was pushed?

Entrecard is a platform of thousands of bloggers dropping cards on each other every single day. It is the way to let blogger know that they have visited your blog. It would be good if you return the visit and drop a card on their blog. The process goes on and on till you get good traffic from there. I’m getting 100+ visits a day from this network. They have beginners free ebook for perfect guide, maybe that will be useful. http://entrecard.com/static/entrecard_official_ebook.pdf

  11. How to earn more money with Adgitize Says:

    Hello Reena,

    here is cornyman (Martin).

Some corrections to your blog post. If you read the blog in Entrecard from April on carefully, you will see that there are a lot of signs that Graham needed to make money with Entrecard.

The first step was to accept paid ads from members and non-members in April.

The second step was that he doubled the price of the paid ad after some days.

The third step was the lowering of the transfer limit to 1000 EC within one week (if you wanted to quit and give-away the points, you have first to ask the Support to higher the limit -> they monitor your actions!).

The fourth step was the offers which whom you can earn additional credits without the need to click (open an account with Forex, buy some wallpapers, sounds for your mobile, play online casino and so on). In Germany there are similar programs for such offers available, there i would get 10 or 20 Euro for opening an online casino account (Graham took a big amount of this money in his/Entrecards wallet when i look at his low credit payout.)

The fifth step should follow soon, when he wanted to allow persons to become members without having a blog (meaning: reader of blogs) and earn credits too. Seems he wanted to compensate the loss of members with these new kind of members. Most likely he wanted them to take part in the previous offers, where he could earn 50 to 100%.

In the end he couldn’t keep up anymore with the loss of money or perhaps just break-even of incoming and outflowing money (or not able of paying back the debt to the new owner, as Ziprunner is the business angel – means investors since the start of EntreCard).

The last point is one of the reasons why you couldn’t cashout 100.000 EC or later on 50.000 ECs. I saw that he just paid out amounts of 10.000 EC and lower within some days or a month.
At the moment it looks like they want to discontinue the CashOut-Program because new members or members who haven’t already signed up for this program have no more the possibility to sign up (the link is missing on the dashboard). If you have been approved or are waiting for approvel (this is still available).

See my last blog posts about the Cashout-Program on http://cornys-moneypage.blogspot.com and their reaction to my comment on the EntreCard-Blog!

    Hi Martin,

It’s a long comment here, looks like you can make a blog post there regarding this topic. I read your blog and EC blog too. Looks like you are right. Buy, my cashout options is still available with 0 balance. I removed all credit from cashout to account balance since there are reply from their end. The least he could do is reply those who waiting for cashout right or maybe a blog post to let everyone know about it.

Looks like you are following close on each Entrecard development there. Good to see an EC member that gives strong support to this community. I wish the new admin will be able to sort all problems soon.

Graham leaving his baby – EC- is really a sad story for the community, but I guess getting out of it gave him some money also instead of replying to all support emails that is hounding EC for a very long time already.

Fro those who are looking for a social network advertising company that offers better traffic, I strongly recommend you try this http://www.blogdemanila.com/recommended/adgitize.php.

All the best to all of us.

The changes have taken place recently as the lifted transaction limit among members from 1k to 25k plus they have removed paid ads system. I think we are heading to a normal Entrecard system now.
