There are many who is still obsessed about dofollow links especially advertisers and link builders. Is nofollow link have no value at all? Does it not counted as backlink at all? Many looks at nofollow link as junk link with zero level value in it. For those who still believes that nofollow have no value, I suggest you to come out of those Google ring now and look again.
Google introduced rel=”nofollow” tag for us to use on those links that we think it is not so important for google spiders to crawl. Before that, all links are still considered the same. Thanks to google, now we have more spammers hunting for dofollow links only. The moment anyone shared their list of dofollow blogs, it is almost like welcoming spammers with open door.
There are many other search engine like Yahoo, MSN, AOL, etc that still recognizes nofollow links and gives credit to it. Nofollow links may help us to increase SERP ranking in other search engines than Google. Plus, a good SEO would agree on getting average amount of backlinks from nofollow and dofollow to help not get caught in linkspam net. So, if you are new to link building, I suggest go for both dofollow and nofollow link building instead of concentrating on dofollow only.

Considering that nofollow was a Google invention do other search engines (yahoo, bing, etc) consider the nofollow tag or do they consider the links equal?
Yahoo count nofollow link as backlink. You can check siteexplorer and all nofollow links are shown there.
In Google Webmaster Tools, they are listing HUNDREDS of no-follow links in the “External Link” count. If these links have “no value,” then WHY is Google counting them? My theory is that Google still recognizes the anchor text (key words in the underlined link) and counts them in the relevancy calculation for SERP purposes, despite the lack of PR recognition.
I don’t know why Google count nofollow links. Maybe, it is for their secret sauce for some giant algorithm on some ranking or evaluation stuffs.
No follow are not in really no follow. its a nice way to have traffic on you blog. its improve ranking also.

I agree with you and I think its true that nofollow to some SEs have value but a lot of so called “link builders” still prefer dofollow due to what G is saying about it.
Its all because Google doesn’t count it. so many link builders prefer dofollow.
I sincerely think that nofollow links can make the difference when it comes to backlink counts. If we don’t just consider Google backlinks, but also Yahoo backlinks and those coming from all the other major and minor search engines, then it’s easy to understand how much nofollow links count to increase a website’s link popularity. If advertisers could realize this, they’d also realize that they have a powerful marketing tool in their hands =)
I wish that all advertisers will look broader and give some value to nofollow link there. In Google/webmaster tool, noffow links still shows as backlink. It means google still recognize nofollow link and who know where they use nofollow links in their algorithms.

Google is Not Count the No Follow. No Follow Links Give the Good Traffic and it’s useful to improve the Ranking.
I agree. For traffic purpose and for SERP ranking in other search engines like yahoo, nofollow does help.
