Recently, I’ve signed up a package from Telekom Malaysia (Home, Hop and Away) that comes with land line, Streamyx 1Mbps and Celcom Broadband sim card 384Kbps with free streamyx modem. I don’t purchase USB Broadband modem for Celcom Broadband as after surveyed, the price was around RM$350 – RM$400 with no contract or package. Yesterday, I was surveying shops in my hometown (Taiping, Perak) and found one of the shop selling the modem at RM$249 (US$70) without any contract or Celcom packages. I grabbed it since it is the latest model from Huawei (E156G).
Installation done automatically and everything goes very smoothly. Today, I tested the speed from my hometown, Taiping using Celcom Broadband 384Kbps, the highest download speed at 150Kbps and average download rate at 30-45Kbps. For RM$133 (US$38) monthly, I got both Streamyx 1Mbps line with land line (including Telekom phone rental) and Celcom Broadband at 384Kbps. I think it is worth every penny. Now, I got good reason to removed the router at home. It is time to use separate Internet connection for both computers.
Currently, I’m downloading 2-3GB each day monitoring 1,000s of new blogs and extracting high PR pages for high PR dofollow link building services for my clients. I find limited bandwidth to blog, drop, comment, find new high PR dofollow blogs, etc. Plus, I’m intending to add more niche blogs. So, it is the best chance to try out other competitors in Internet Service Provider (ISP) market. Are you having more than one ISP line? What is your best reason? Please share.

Sorry to post another useless comment, but there have been no new articles in several weeks and the TC widget keeps re-setting every week.
I’m with AT&T and have been looking at their 3G card for several days now. I just returned from a few days on the mainland and I was outraged that my hotel wanted $8.95 per day for Internet access. I”m going to get some type of broadband wireless service before I go again!
That is ridiculous rate! I wouldn’t even check in this kind of hotel. They should give free Internet access instead.
@Matt: Yeah, I don’t see any new stuff within this two weeks.
I’m back now. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope you enjoy all 10 free PR6 dofollow blogs on my recent post.
Very good article about celcom broadband.I also used broadband. Its really a good explanation about your experience with celcom broadband.
Thanks. I’m kind of new to this mobile broadband stuff. Maybe, I got excited over there.
so if the price of internet access is expensive in malaysia ya ….
I’m not sure it is expensive. For me, I got a good deal here.
The rates for internet broadband is same at your place as it is here back in India. I am using Reliance broadband plus wireless internet and getting a speed up to 3.1MBPS, while i get a download speed averaging around 130-180 and the upload speed around 100Kbps. And i pay a month rental around 20USD.
I can tell that is worth every penny there. You got a great deal there. Congrats!
