Once my client infected with malware and google banned it, i forgot what its name, but when i trace, it came from free wordpress template. so beware, always check before use.
usually if today you ask for google consideration, the next day, banned will be lifted

  3. I guess your tips on dealing with this is quite great. But I still believe that prevention is better than cure. Site owners should update their CMS at all times, maintain their anti-virus with network and web shield updated and change their passwords frequently to avoid hacking and the like.

I just rececently warned a friend that her blog had been blocked because containing a virus, and it ended up being fault of one free script she was using to retrieve visitor stats on her sidebar. Gladly she resetted everything and now her site is okay.

I personally do antivirus scan on one of my hosting accounts every week (this hosting has an integrated antivirus), and I check personally every folder of my 2nd hosting account to see if any bad/unknown files have been added. I’ve had one of my sites hacked in the past, so since then I really freak out when it comes to security and I check my files very often; even my hostees’ subdomains.
