Thanks for sharing us with these useful information. Does your penalty just reflect our page rank?

  2. MMO says:

Well best not to do any link exchanges or even 3 way / 4 way links, as google will penalize you.

  3. Hi,

Don’t worry about it. As long as google don’t recognize it, you are on safe side. From now on, I’m sure you will have a different perspective on link exchanges.

  6. Well, nice info you shared here. Never really know that link exchange could be THAT serious.

I had heard about three way link exchange to avoid Google penaltly but still didn’t understand it. Still searching around the net for explaination.

    • Work At Home says:

Three way link exchange need two similar niche blogs. Let’s say you own Blog A and Blog B. You want to link exchange with Blog C (other owner). Your blog A link Blog C. And you ask the owner of Blog C to link your Blog B. Now find Blog D owner and do the same and so on. This is 3 way link exchange. I have tried it but most of the links are removed in weeks or months because the bloggers believe that they are not getting backlink from our blog forgetting it is a 3 way link exchange.

  8. Hm… how if I’ve link exchange???

  9. If we buy links under the google radar , I mean less in number and highly relevant from a good website then paid links are good. else you should do it because link with nofollow are of no use .

The other m thing is don’t do link exchange in high scale because its not that important in SEO these days

I don’t suggest buying or selling sidebar links with dofollow. If it is relevant, we can always try other methods, such as being on “Top Commentators”, “Top Droppers”. “Recent Comment”, “Friends” etc list. Maybe, you can try 3 way link exchange.

If the link is no follow why would someone want to buy the link in the first place?

    • Luana says:

Why not? :) A nofollow link might not pass Pagerank, but it is still a ‘open door’ to Alexa traffic and website promotion to get a product known, thus getting more customers to buy it. It would be the web version of a TV ad.

    • Work At Home says:

I agree with Luana. Nofollow link also recognized in Yahoo and other search engines and provides credit towards its ranking. Dofollow only concerns google search engine.
