I say having a website it hard! I signed up with a hosting company 4 long months ago – and registered 5 domain names. Nothing has been done because I just don’t know what I’m doing – and I can’t afford anyone expensive to it for me.
Do you think it’s possible to find somone who is just learning html, etc or is trying to build their portfolio (and needs experience and references) who would do it really cheap – in exchange for a permanent link or something?
If that route isn’t possible, where would you go? Do you have anyone to recommend? Ack! What would you do in my situation? My stuff certainly isn’t selling itself when it isn’t posted anywhere!!

I think that you raise a good point for primary sites. But for content or ancillary sites, templates are good inexpensive solution for webmasters.
Yes, I agree. A normal site can get a free template anywhere with a sponsored link.
Website design is really secondary to the value of good content. But that does not mean it should be ignored compltely. I personally go to the more attractive websites myself.
I agree on the secondary part. Getting a good design will always help us to get more space to utilize fully. I haven’t do that for this blog yet. I’m trying to find some time to do that soon.
