Good information. Problem is I think most people here are going to be competing for popular keywords, especially if competing on a national or global level. One way to circumvent this would be to create alot of smaller scale niche keywords. For example if your selling embroidered patches and targeting USA, you could create pages for specific states or popular cities. Searching for embroidered patches in Denver would be easier to achieve a good ranking than simply custom patches.
After getting a good foothold on smaller regions, they should give you some more weight and credibility when competing on a national level.
Exactly. I think this is the main reason why bloggers fails. Competing high rank keywords will make them fight with big fish. As a newbie, it is almost impossible to get good ranking for it. So, starting with multiple low volume keywords certainly a perfect base to start blogging.
Yeh getting indexed is pretty easy at first but if there are no links coming into the pages or posts within a month Google will drop it out of its primary index. Getting ranked in 3 days is hard unless you take advantage of QDF algo.

another way is to create blog on blogspot with name of wished search result..like how-to-earn-money.blogspot…
Often, blogspot blogs are pushed at the end of google search results. Only a couple of good blogspot blogs able to get top spots. Even, the keyword in the domain will not be very helpful here.

So far, I never target low volume. As a trial, I’m trying on “backlink checker” keyword. Current place is at 52.
Well, if the competition is low for a specific phrase, it will be easy for anyone to rank on page one or even on the top. But of course, the effort will be doubled or more if there’s a great competition for a specific keyword.
I think the effort is not doubled for targeted high traffic keyword. It is like 100x higher works needed to get the top spot.
I totally agree with you Atniz. Actually that’s what I meant. The scenario for high competitions is really different. It should be consistent and continuous. Tiring but it is what should be done.

That is a good tip, but what is the point in featuring in top results for keywords with search volume 0.
That is the idea. If we have keyword rich contents developing contents, in long run, the traffic from search engine will be on high side.
