I love the spend what is left ever saving comment! Makes a lot of sense.
It sounds good. If we have higher saving, then there might be almost nothing to spend.
I should let all my friends know about that “borrowing” advice, hehe
Yes. It is modern slavery by meaning.
Simple advices that are challenging to apply for some of us who don’t want to get out of our comfort zones. It’s somehow disappointing that we have to be reminded constantly of these things in the hopes that we would listen. Worse, we understand its value when we’ve lost or are in trouble.
The situation this year 2009 will either make us or break us.
I agree with you Jared. I’m thinking of paste this note on my computer table or room wall to read every day.
I think this will put us all in a good place. We’ve learned not to spend as freely as we once did and manage our money better. A hard lesson learned.
During hard time is where we learn. I think this economic downturn will make a lot of us stronger.
Thank you for sharing this article. I like the ‘spending’ advice and try to implement the ‘savings’ part whenever I can.
I like that quote too. It is always easy to give advice, following that advice is the hardest thing to do. I wish you good luck.
Like you say, it should all be common sense, but often the most obvious thing is staring us in the face. “Why buy an umbrella when you have leaky shoes?” – classic
It is all common sense where we don’t realize.
Great suggestions, hope many will be benefited with these suggestions.
Thank you for posting!
Thank you. I hope it will reach many.
The advice makes so much sense it’s common sense! It takes the second richest man in the world to tell us to do the right thing. Thanks for sharing this to everyone.
It’s all common sense. Most of the time, we won’t take serious of any quote. Now, we know the source is some strong idol. It could make some difference.
Great advice from “The Oracle Of Omaha”……Mr. Buffett has lived in the same house for over 50 years!
Yes, I heard about it too. At least he have one giant group of people working for him.
Hey – Great post, as always. I’m curious – what is your stance on accepting paid ads? Would you mind talking about that in a post? I’d love to know what you’re thinking and where you stand on things. Keep up the good work!
Hi Katherine,
I gave up advertising on Entrecard very long ago. The highest rate of bounce traffic is from entrecard referred traffic (reached 90%) from google analytics. For me, Entrecard is giving a good number of traffic (less than 100 visits a day) and I have couple of good friends over there like you. I don’t like the idea of accepting paid ads. It’s like a competition going on between the Entrecard hardcore supporter (those who use EC to purchase ads) and new financial supporter (using money). They have promised to enable EC credit sales by last Saturday. Looks like it will only take a miracle for that to happen.
