There are plenty of ways that we can monetize our blog. There are so many factors involved in advertising valuation. The most important part is to answer your advertiser’s inquiries. Be prepared to answer below question if your advertiser request from you:
1. Alexa, RSS numbers and Page Rank
This numbers can be viewed by your advertiser. It is good to know your current ranking in order to set prices for advertising slots.
2. DMOZ listing
There are a number of advertisers keen on sites that are listed in DMOZ. If you could get your site listed, it will be an additional point that convinces your advertiser.
3. Unique Visitors / Day or Month (higher is better)
Install google analytics in your blog and start monitoring traffic that referred from any sites, direct or search engine. Also, study on reducing bounce rate. Getting more unique visitors and reducing bounce rate will increase your ad value.
4. DoFollow or Nofollow link
If you want to sell a link in your blog, make sure it is nofollow. There are many advertisers still after dofollow links for their advertisement. Some of them can offer you very high rate. The risk is yours as google penalty site that sells links with dofollow. No matter what current PR you might have, the penalty can drag it to zero level.
5. Number of outgoing links from your site
The more outgoing links you have from your site, the low lower value it gets. Try to control your outgoing links. Control your outgoing links from you site to get higher value.
6. Limit number of paid posts
Paid post is one of the main source for blogging income. Keep a good paid post and unpaid post ration. It is good to have lowest number of paid post. Try to keep it lower than 25% of paid posts overall. Means, only one paid post in every 4 post you made in your blog. High paid post ratio will reduce the value.
7. Stay in your niche
Compared to general blogs that writes almost about everything, niche blog that concentrate on certain topics get higher ad value in advertising. Advertisers that are looking for targeted traffic will look for site/blog that is related to his business. So, try to stay on your niche and earn more.

Agree with you. Usually, Alexa and Page rank is the first impression that any blogs have for the advertisers.

These are all great factors in determining the worth of advertising on your blog. Especially the traffic part, if you get a lot of visits per month the advertisers will keep coming back and renewing their ad because they are getting good conversion rates, but if no one clicks it, they won’t come back
