Recently, many bloggers prefer to use keyword as name instead of their real / nickname in the commentators section. Instead of using names like John, Albert, etc, most bloggers prefer to use keyword names like “work at home”, “acai berry oprah”, “make money online”, etc. It shows that they understand some SEO concept there. Hyperlinked keyword with dofollow gives some benefits to search engine results on our targeted keywords. The first idea of getting hyperlinked keyword is from article writing. Now, it is used widely as name in commentators in most of the dofollow blogs.
Not all bloggers will approve keyword type of names in their comments section. Even, the comment is related to the blog post and very constructive, some blog admin might remove the link or change the name to non hyperlinked (Anonymous). My blog is keywordluv and approve comments that use keyword names as long as it is not sound spammy. Remember, for those who building excessive backlinks for certain keyword for their URL, it might the site (URL that is used in hyperlinked keyword) goes trough penalty by listed in deep pages instead of first page result.
I have tried this method for all my comments using “Work At Home”. There are only a few blogs that approves keyword type of name. All the other comments has marked as scam. I prefer to build up my blog’s backlinks using “Atniz” (not my real name). It helps all my comments to get approved and win good amount of dofollow backlinks. I can say, an average of 70% of all keyword comments never got approve in dofollow blogs. My suggestion is to use both combination (name and keywords). Some comments using your nickname and some using multiple keywords. You can also try to combine “John @ Work At Home”.
So, what type of name you prefer to use? Any specific reason?

Actually I have tried that out myself, well they do help alittle in terms of SEO but it still takes much effort from other aspect to bring your blog to higher rankings.
I think that is why no one dare to promise to bring our site to first ranking in SE for any keywords.
I prefer to use my name. If you want to work on Branding then i think whatever the name of your blog is site would be appropriate, but if you want to just use keywords for other reasons, i myself wouldnt do it.
I guess I’m old school with it, but hey i rather build up my name/brand and be recognized =]
It is a good start to make our name/brand famous. For long run, you might want to consider on keywords too.
Well, I guess I have been going about this all wrong. I actually put my NAME in the name section — I suppose since I use so many different keywords on my site as it’s not a niche site, it would be better if I just used my blog name.
Once again a thought provoking article.

It is good to have a combination of keywords that hyperlinked with our blog. Good to see you back again.
Does Sally House count? My name is Sally but I thought with a last name like House people might think its real but its not. Well I hope it helps cos I could do with as much help as I can get
No. Sally House sounds like a name to me. If your hyperlinked URL is related to some real estate, then it might look like a spam.
I love the cat photo!
Yeah Susan, me too.
I agree…..using keyword is not the way I would go about doing it.
Good to hear that.
Thanks for the post. It is interesting to hear that 70% don’t post keyword “names”. I have never gone through the trouble of checking to see what ones are or are not approved. I like the compromise that you suggest it makes sense. Thanks!
Maybe, you can try to use a combination of “Name @ Keyword” on those sites that don’t allow keywordluv.
The anchor text is important for SEO purposes. Although if the anchor text is too common it might be mistaken as spam. People feel differently when we use anchor text to link to our blogs vs when we use our proper names.
Agree with you. Anchored text really helps in SERP. For that reason, it is flooded by many link builders and SEO workers to work on that. So, it is now viewed as spam.
I use medical transcriptionist as my keyword and I’ve seen none opposing that. May be if I put “medical transcription blog” it might sound spammy to some webmasters as a blog cannot be a live person to comment! So the secret is, if your keyword is some designation of yours, it won’t sound spammy.
This is fully keyword name. Not many blogs will approve your comments if you use this as your name. I think you should know it too.
I have been using a combination of my name and keywords for about 2 months now. I started using this as my name in comments after reading about keywordluv. I have not noticed any of my comments being rejected, so far (knock on wood
I don’t understand what the big deal is about using keywords as your name or why it is considered spammy?!? Any idea why people have such a problem with it?
I think this is the safest way to comment using keyword type of name. A combination of name and keyword have higher rate of approval compared to keyword only type of names. I’m sure you will see the positive results soon. Good luck!
