Have you ask yourself: How much is your current blog or website value? Do you believe on the ridiculously high rate appeared on some valuation site? My 10 months old blog valued at $20,000 – $25,000 in a few valuation sites (not prefer to point out which site here). If you are a buyer, are you willing to buy a 10 months old PR3 blog at this rate? Definitely, I won’t buy it. If you have intention to buy a website or blog, how are you going to know the real value of it?
There are many factors need to take into account to do website valuations. Just to name a few aspects here:
- Revenues (Daily, Monthly, Annually)
- Expenses
- Page Rank
- SEO status
- Search engine results for any bad links
- Type of site
- Maintenance hours needed a day
- Monthly unique visitors
- Monthly page views
- Signed up members
- Subscribers count
- Level of skills required to run this site
- Content uniqueness
- And more…
As a seller, we all want to sell our website or blog at higher rate. If you plan to sell your site, try to get the real website valuation from a professional. This will help you to improve your website. You can know exactly where you need to improve in order to increase your site value. Tackling our website weakness can make us even richer.
As a buyer, I won’t fork out $20k for a 10 months old blog. I would definitely check the current value and its revenue that can help me to get the return of investment (ROI) faster. During this economic crisis, invest your hard earned money wisely. There are tons of scammers around that are using creative ways to get our money. Protect your investments and stay safe doing this kind of trade.

wow $20,000 – $25,000 is great for a 10 month old blog. Thats definitely something I want to aim for
Good luck Sally! It is not the real value. The real value might be around 10% only.
It’s great that you mentioned maintenance as that is a big part of a valuing a site.
Yes Susan.
Maintenance is one of the biggest part to value a site. We don’t want to spend 8 hours/day to maintain a site. 2 hours will be optimum.
It’s time for me to put a thought on this.
Why is that? Do you want to sell your site?
Just to know the worth.
hmm a value of 20k … is too high for pg 3 le. Oh ya how to check SEO ranking, ive search for it but found none.
There is no way we can find our SEO ranking JustinKC. We can find our site ranking for certain keyword in google search and improve it by doing some SEO.
Do you think Alexa rankings have any part to play in estimated cost?
Alexa plays minimal role only as not many still using it to value our blog. I think quantcast is better in order to see the ranking.
yea..a value of 20,000 tp 25,000 is really a lot, im keeping my fingers crossed on mine..
Good luck to you Eddy. I think, we should get around Alexa 30k and PR7 in order to get $20-$25k value.
The value of the blog is only important at that point in time and will not have any importance afterwards. Another thing is the value of a blog is just abstract unless you actually sell it.
The value of blog fluctuates. We can find the value of it whenever we want to sell or buy any for sale sites.
Nice writing. You are on my RSS reader now so I can read more from you down the road.
