The Problem Working At Home

I have been work at home and do some offline business since 2005. It has been four years since I have started working at home for money. Of course, you can do all your work or making money ventures at your home sweet home seat. But, having the work pressure in our head, home will not be sweet anymore. Literally, we are changing our home environment to office type of environment. My mum always remind me that, whenever you back home from office, you should leave outside the all your work affairs, pressure, problems, pending works, before entering the house. Entering house with all this in mind after work with so tired, will only cause trouble to the family. It helped me to build a good family bonds.

Also, it is not good to show the anger of workplace to our closed ones in the family right. Since I have started my home business, I can’t really follow that rules. It is like you are on your work while taking care of your house and family members. Of course, you just need two hours to write few quality posts and few more hours to build some traffic to your blog. At least 4 to 5 hours a day needed to spend on one blog to see some money. With all this responsibility when you are at home, finding 4 or 5 hours a day is not easy.

Getting a maid can help you a lot. Remember, maid is just helping hand that will work with us to manage the house and cleanliness and not our slaves. I don’t really like to have a maid because there won’t be any privacy and my son won’t get the attachment he should get with his parents. I want to spend most of my time with him. Children only will be with us until certain age. At age 4, 3 hours at kindergarten. At age 7, 8 hours at school and few more hours doing other curricular activities. If could see, there won’t be much time that we can spend one they start schooling. It will be worse if they go to Universities or start working. So, the best time that we can spend our quality time with our children is at their young age that is before they step to school.

I’m those of you who are doing full time work at home might face some other problems. Share your struggles and how you have overcome it here.

Working from home requires a lot of patience and dedication, you need a separate office area no matter how small.I am juggling my home business with taking care of 3 young boys of under 6 years old.It gives me enough time to watch my kids grow.

It must be tough to concentrate on something while taking care 3 child. I wish you will do better in 09. All the best!

I have separate room for my office works. My 14 months old son always run in my office room and turn off the computer (pushing the reset button or the power button). At least he is helping me to come out from room.

The main problem that I’ve been facing trying to work from my home is the frequent power cuts. We are facing 16 hours of power cuts and this isn’t getting any better at all.

    • Atniz says:

Well, this is the first time I’m hearing power cuts problem. I suggest you to get alternative power, something like solar, UPS or batteries to support your work. Wish you overcome your problems soon.

  5. I think the most difficult part working on home is time management. You will get a lot of distraction, especially when you have kids or wife.

    • Atniz says:

It’s true. But, if you have wonderful wife and kids, I’m sure you will be happy doing your work while spending time with them. Sometimes, we might need to work after the kids sleep to avoid distractions. At least we have this option.

  6. It takes getting use to and not everyone is cut out for it. I have been working from home for 10 years and have managed to train myself to work when I should. Although I also don’t have to distraction of a child.

  7. Jay says:

Yeah, I never get my work accomplished from home because of all the distractions and temptations. For instance, the TV, the bed to sleep, kitchen for food, phone ringing, etc.

Honestly, I work better when I’m NOT at home in some business environment or even a cyber cafe or library.

    • Atniz says:

I feel the same too when I’m in cyber cafe doing the same work. Usually, at home I might need 4 to 5 hours and the same work can be done in 2 hours in cyber cafe. It is because of the distraction and commitment that we have in home. We can;t just leave baby crying for food.
