During recent page rank update, many have lost their PR and many have gained. I have noticed that a lot of blogspot blogs gained good page rank. I don’t know whether it a coincidence or they are really that is good. I was expecting at least PR4 in this update but was not aware that I was passing my page rank sidewide using Top Commentators and Top Droppers widget.
Sidewide link is not so good for the blog owner. If your blog have 1000 links and you have Top 10 Commentators widget showed sidewide. You are giving away 10,000 links at one time. Are we getting this much backlinks to give? So, I have decided to give only on main page. So, my top commentators will get 1 PR3 backlink only. Other than that, it will be from dofollow blog comments since I made my blog to dofollow.
Other than that, you can also disable commenting section for older blog posts. Most of the older blog posts will get good backlinks and might get some PR in google update. SEO experts will look for high PR blog posts and post comment to get high PR page’s backlink which will be motivating channel for spammers. You can disable commenting in your blog at wordpress > setting > discussion.
To get good page rank, you should minimize outgoing dofollow links and get more incoming dofollow backlinks. My next target of page rank is 5. What about you?

It is common that page rank will update in every 3 months once. Last update was end of December 08. Next update will be around end of March.

About PR0, there are PRN/A (which can be many reason; not recognized by google yet, or the PR reader is busy or not responding, or PR removed due to google violation)

Why you lost your page rank? Is it because of google penalty? Please check again the reason of your PR lost. If it is of penalty, it is almost impossible to get it back.

I guess Atniz will not mind me answering you. Install google toolbar to know the real PR and it seems that you have a PR3 for the blog that you link your name.

Hi Atniz, I am still confused about PR things. I installed a PR indicator couple weeks ago and I was surprised to see PR3. So I tried to verify using with those other free PR checker. Some indicates PR0 and other PR3. Which one is the exact number, I really don’t know until now. But I understand one thing that PR is about linking to get popularity, so I link and link and link and flirts with other blogs. He…he…he…

It’s true! Your blog have PR3. Congratulations! San Nayak is right. You can install google toolbar with page rank tool (just enable this tool while installing it in your firefox). Most of the time, it will show PR but certain time, it will show N/A. It might be the google server not responding to show PR. Don’t worry about it, it is just temporary. Continue flirting and increase your PR to next level. All the best!!!

- Your pages are loading very slowly because of buzz.yahoo.com. It takes a lot of time to get the response from yahoo server. You can use some services to check what takes the max time to load your pages and get rid of them if you feel not having a perfect worth.
- You are right, there should be a proper symmetry between out going link and incoming link. More of either one looks spamy to search engines as well. Try to make a balance of that. I am not very sure but try to settle on 20/80 on going links. 20% of total links on your web site should go out and 80% should be distributed among rest of your pages. Let me know if you think something else.

Thanks for the advice. I have removed Yahoo Buzz and SezWho. I think the blog load time is a lot faster now.
It is good to follow certain percentage. But, I believe there are no specific rate for it. What do you think on the comments we made on our own blog? Lets say, the post is 2 years old and have some PR on the page. I’m sure all the commentators will get dofollow backlinks from that page. But, how about the owner’s comment on that particular page? Does it contribute to the owners blog as well?
