From my point of view of many blogger around us, affiliate saves a lot of blogger’s ass. Year 2009 will be my target year of record breaking. I have monitored for couple of months that most of the successful bloggers and newbie’s monthly online income from blogging alone is nothing compared to their affiliate earnings. I slowly gave up on blogging income and concentrated on SEO works to supplement my Entrecard credit sales earnings. Until one point, I realized that how come all the other bloggers still able to make good figure but I couldn’t make any from my blog.
I started to study most of the bloggers monthly online income update. For those who are earning good four figure income monthly from blogging, they don’t earn it from private ad sales or paid posts. It clearly shows that they earn their income from affiliate commissions. Affiliate marketing uses blogging as a part of marketing but there are a lot of strategies involved to boost affiliate income. Clearly, it is not entirely from blogs. Affiliate commissions earns up to 50% – 80% of total income for some pro bloggers.
Starting from January 2009, I’m going to concentrate on affiliate marketing with blogs and other channels. Maybe, affiliate is the key for anyone to become a problogger. What do think of affiliate marketing?

I think you should give up that idea. Diversifying blog income can make us grow faster and bolder. Depending on one sort of income is not a professional way of blogging.

Simple secret: Diversify your income sources, don’t lay all your eggs in one basket.
Just don’t depend on adsense or affiliate sales alone, tap all the possible sources except selling text links.

Good point I personally have never done much affiliate blogging I always thought that blogs pushing something in there post is usually a blog not worth reading , there are exceptions of course for example there are thouse that write 2-5 great post and one affiliate post and even that is great and usefull but in my experience it is the exception not the norm

Keeping a low rate ad post will be the best way for any good blog to grow positively.
